Called for alterations on medical scrubs. He said it would be $40-$50 per set. I told him that was very expensive, his advise to me was to find a little old lady who's husband who had died and is on welfare just wanting to make extra money. I found him to be rude and obnoxious. Just because of this I would stay away from his business.

This guy is super nice, I can't say that enough. However, he did my wedding dress alterations several times over a big huge sweater. I kept telling him the top part was too big and he kept telling me it was fine when I said it wasn't. When I got the dress back I immediately took it home (he again had me try it on over clothes in his shop) and the top looks absolutely awful when I put it on WITHOUT A SWEATER UNDER IT. Like totally unwearable and it's less than a week before my wedding. I ended up buying another dress last minute and spent 350 extra dollars than I should have because I don't trust him to touch this piece again and it's too last minute to have anyone else touch this. Sucks! Nice doesn't get the job done. The work he did on the skirt was lovely but the top is such a catastrophic nightmare and makes the whole piece unusable.

I have used Colston Alterations for over 20 years for military uniforms. He is worth every penny. I have lived in Lompoc twice and when I am away I even ship my uniforms to him. He may be more expensive than an on-base alternative through AAFES, but I have tried many times to use AAFES alterations and have never been so satisfied as when Mr. Colston does them. Simply stated, he cares about his work. He cares enough to make it just right. He cares about the details as much as I do.I just returned from receiving my new OCPs from Peterson AFB alterations and I am severely disappointed. I will be contacting Mr. Colston tomorrow to ship my uniforms to him, as I have done many times over the years. There just isn't anyone better!!Service: Alterations

I made an appointment 2 days in advance for a measurement as I am a groomsman in my best friends wedding and need measurements for this coming weekend. I was given the date/time of the appointment and upon arrival the store is closed and the owner said he's not open. Please wish me luck as I scramble to locate a responsible Tailor and hopefully get measurements in a 4 day period. Thanks for NOTHING!

Harvey is an outstanding professional who takes his trade seriously and makes the finest products. He's done dress alterations, sown on my uniform ranks, and even refitted my covers to look brand new. There is no one in town I'd recommend over Harvey Colston.
