Very knowledgeable people. Liked the guy and their service but some things are questionable. The kit I purchased with them should have came with crank and cam shaft seals as the kit implies they do, yet mine didn’t and needed replacement. Now I have to pay again to have them go in there to replace them. The guy did give me a great deal on some parts. Just a bit disappointed I have to order something that should have came with the kit and have to pay again to redo.

I've never written a negative review before about any place. Just don't usually believe in it. But just drove 1 hour to this place after calling for hours and just getting a voicemail, they're the only star station smog check in my area. When I got there the guy (Mark) told me he was too busy to do a smog check - it would have been disappointing on its own but he was as rude as I've ever dealt w in a service industry. Combative to the point where he was confusing me. Said he was purposely not answering phone, was dismissive and condescending for zero reason. It was insane. A younger version of me would have knocked the guy out. Awful.

Tried to charge me $130 for smog because it was a van, every other place is $65, tried asking why so much, then she became rude, smh

I too am surprised by the negative comments about this shop, I have been coming here for years especially for the problems more than just a minor nuisance. I have come to the Automotive Service Center on a few occasions when repair attempts were unsuccessful at other repair shops. Mark is very straight forward and does not sugar coat the problems so don't expect a fairytale. With that said I have found that he always addresses the issues, and so far, successfully. Being a mechanic myself when I was younger gives me enough knowledge to know when I am being BS'd. And that lady behind the desk. I don't know where she received her training, possibly years of experience working in and around the repair shop. She is actually very knowledgeable, and when she says something, it would be unwise to blow off her message. I had error codes in the OBD2 that had to be reset which requires a period of driving in a particular way. After a couple hundred miles (mainly short trips back and forth to work) not all the required monitors had cleared that would allow a smog check to pass. After that I took the advice I was provided by that lady behind the desk and took a trip down to Camarillo and back. The monitors cleared somewhere on the return trip home and I was able to have the smog check completed just prior to the period allowed for registration renewal.

Don't know why this place has such negative feedback. They have worked with me many times on my older suburban, as well as the wife's van. They are open and honest with me every time. Small town mom and pop shop. Probably not the cheapest option on everything, but I would rather support them than some big name place. Will be going here for years.

I came in to get help changing a lite bulb. Whoever I spoke to basically talked s*** to me and said it would take a week. Even after I had already purchased the correct bulb from Oreilly's he said it was wrong. He kept asking irrelevant questions as I walked out as I was not going to continue the conversation with this j**** Terrible customer service, and by that I would guess they don't really give a s*** about the work they do. I went to the same place I got my oil changed and they did it in 5 minutes for free. Don't go here unless you like getting treated poorly.

I brought my older truck here to be smogged, and boy do I regret this after3 months my truck is still not smogged, mechanic said it needed a carburetor he couldn't find one, I had to find it, I replaced it and now he said it's wrong and he won't smog it, I went to get assistance from CA. referee, and he told them all kind of stories about the carburetor I replaced, and after this they were no help, they tell conflicting stories, after spending $477.00 and being charged for somethings twice, and there price mark up is outrageous. I would advise anyone having auto repairs, to steer clear of Automotive Service Center.
