I started a kitchen and family room remodel with them on 3/1/23. They said that it would take 6-8 weeks. They finished on 12/1/23! This is a common but very frustrating practice of contractors. Make sure you get an end date in writing. To be fair the permitting process with the city of Manhattan Beach is difficult and time consuming and they do not care about your timeline! The delay due to the permit accounted for about 6 weeks. My designer Polly was wonderful and I am thrilled with the way my kitchen came out and how we collaborated. Her assistant Leah was great as well and both were very responsive...they will answer every call or text. No complaints in that department. Robin was my on-site project manager and he was skilled and did quality work and was always willing to go above and beyond but he was clearly stretched beyond what is reasonable. Running from job to job. Multiple times I was told "I'll be right back" and it would be 5+ hours before "right back" happened or sometimes not even the same day. Additionally, I went out of town multiple times during construction. Once for two weeks and I was told (by family members who were home) that workers only showed up once and then another time I was away for 10 days and no one came at all. Their showroom is impressive and WDC Appliance is also located within the showroom so they tend to point you to them for your appliances and it is convenient having them there. I used them but would not use them again. I was told when I ordered my appliances in December 2022 (as the appliances needed to be on-site for construction to begin) that I had time to decide on extended warranties. Well, when I went to inquire further about the warranty, I was told that WDC switched the company that was doing their extended warranties and that now I could no longer purchase them for any of my appliances. This is not okay! If this was the scenario it was their job to get a hold of me and tell me that IF I wanted the warranties, I had to purchase them before they switched providers. Additionally, the appliances arrived quickly (in mid-early January) and I had been told that WDC would hold them for me until they were needed. Well, I started getting calls right away saying "when will you take delivery" and I was told by my salesman that the warehouse was out of space and that I needed to take delivery. I had to take delivery at the end of January - early February and they were not installed until sometime around June.

0 STARS!!! BUYERS BEWARE. SBDC will sell you top price of the line kitchen and bath & you will receive lower quality than what you pay for. Paid $70,000 for what my designer adamantly claimed was "high quality" particle board. Come to find out it didn't include install. They didn't inform me UNTIL a month later, AFTER we spent weeks on the design & choosing the cabinet manufacturer...my designer did not say anything about not including and install until we were to finalize design & place order for production. After 3 months of anticipating on this kitchen, more than half of my order showed up in an unacceptable condition. Extremely godawful experience. 6 months later delaying my move-in & home renovation. Complete nightmare. I am stuck with 49 boxes of firewood. I had to pay laborers to help remove it from my kitchen space. For some reason I am unable to post photos here but I will be posting it all over the Internet to warn others of this conduct and my experience. Rectification: SBDC will not remake a quality order or install, only offered to remake at additional price on top of what I paid - 50% of the cost. Their warranty is only good for replacing the same low quality trash that keeps showing up cracked, cosmetically flawed, broken & poorly assembled. I've lost months and months of time and the agony & headaches and dealing with SBDC & Bellmont is unreal. How badly I wish I had gone with a local cabinet maker. Huge mistake getting baited & switched here. I've had months of major anxiety and clinical depression due to this. Look up kitchen cabinet reviews on Bellmont Co. Cabinets. I spoke with the installer who they later fired and he said it was the same incident with a customer that had an $80k order in Manhattan with Medallion Cabinets. SBDC is a total RIP OFF. I should have really only paid half of what I paid to receive what I got, INSTALLED. It's a total scam. Wish I had seen them prior to this. Absolute horror.

I worked with Polly and Leah who helped me redesign my kitchen and a bathroom after extensive water damage had destroyed them. Polly and her assistant were very attentive, answered questions in a timely manner, and offered great ideas for the designs. My new kitchen and bathroom are just beautiful.

We have just finished the planning and ordering stage of our kitchen remodel and have had a great experience at South Bay Design Center. Fay, our designer, was amazing throughout the whole process. Honestly, she is the kind of expert designer you hope for when doing a kitchen, which is a complicated process that requires expertise and lots of patience and focus. Fay was always on time, met all deadlines and listened to what we wanted at our initial meeting and did her design work quickly, but with great attention to detail. She clearly has a passion for design and it's a joy to work with her.In the planning process, Fay had great and innovative ideas to make our space work best, was always eager to meet and answer our many questions (we are also detailed oriented people), and was so organized at every stage. She also has a great design eye and took time to set up a personalized "finishes display area" in a well lit section of the showroom whenever we came in so we could make informed decisions. Now that our final plans are done, her skills are really evident. She has this kitchen planned down to the 1/4 inch, which is amazing and is going to give us a very professional look. And when we could decide on a color for our cabinets, she and Kamer (store owner) even set up an appointment for us to visit a home they had just remodeled that used the same color we were considering. This is above and beyond service and gave us so much piece of mind with our decisions.Other designers in the SBDC also gave input on design when needed AND Kamer was very always generous with his time. The showroom is under a massive renovatio, but construction is far enough along that the new additions can showcase many features and finishes. In a world dominated by online shopping, it is so helpful to see things in person. Given all this, we feel confident our kitchen install will go great too, especially since Fay will be there to make sure all goes well. We will update our review in a few months when the install is all done and we are enjoying our new kitchen. Excited for our new kitchen!

Polly was the designer for our kitchen remodel and the main point of contact for our project. She is very professional and so helpful. She was always available when we needed help and was very quick to respond to our texts/emails or return our phone calls. She addressed any concerns we had promptly and suggested alternative, createive solutions to problems. Her customer service is amazing and I really enjoyed working with her.Service: Kitchen remodeling

If you are looking for high-end kitchen and bathroom cabinetry don't choose South Bay Kitchen in Lomita, look elsewhere. I have been waiting four months for a cabinet face for my half bath and when it finally was delivered, I still waiting to have it installed. There is absolutely no sense of urgency for the customer who already paid in full. And the quality of installation is demonstrated by the images I cannot post of cabinets that are not level. Eli the proprietor of the business doesn't answer follow-up calls or respond to texts. Headsup!!!

Can't say much about their actual work but can say this... Way, WAY overpriced!!! They (female, didn't catch her name), gave me a phone quote of ~$30k/bathroom!!! WTF??? Now, I understand that the price of building materials have skyrocketed but a small bath at $30k. You outta you fuck*ng mind!!! My quote was based solely on the picture of another bathroom they had done and was "featured" on their website. It was absolutely IDENTICAL to our middle bathroom, which really isn't a large one at all. So... I decide to demo myself, (with help of course), enlist family / friends with "knowledge" and am almost done with #1 at way less than half the cost. So... while their work looks great, their prices are exorbitant to say the least. Now is not the time to ramrod customers (or potentials) in the p*** shoot. We'll see you when y'all file for chapter 11...

We had our kitchen designed by Polly Nunes and our contractor was Saul. They are both wonderful at their jobs and our kitchen came out absolutely beautiful. I cook often and it is a pleasure to spend time in the kitchen now, enjoying my new lovely cabinets and luxury appliances. Polly did an excellent job designing the kitchen, given the space we had and turned what was a gallery kitchen into an open kitchen concept. Saul was very attentive to detail and responded abruptly to any needs or concerns we had during the remodeling process. His workers were also very polite and careful. All of this happened during the beginning of the Covid pandemic and we were nervous about doing the remodel. It all turned out ok and fortunately there were no major delays in cabinet or appliance delivery. They finished the project in the time expected, about 6 weeks. All in all, our experience with South Bay Design Center was a great, and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking for a place that not only can remodel your kitchen but can design exactly what you're looking for.

My kitchen cabinets were designed by Polly. She is a wonderful person and put up with all of our lady minute changes and requests. I am very tall and requested that my cabinets touch the ceiling and the counter tops be raised. Also we wanted a special blue color.

Thank you South Bay Design for creating the kitchen I've been dreaming of for years! I had the pleasure of working with Polly and Luis. From beginning to end they were organized, professional, and prompt with their service. We were in the middle of COVID19, but because we had all of our materials/appliances they were able to finish in just under 4 weeks! The kitchen was a complete demo/remodel. Polly and Luis were very attentive and kind in regards to all my questions and concerns. Excellent workmanship! So happy with my beautiful kitchen!

Not a great place to work he treats his employees rudely wouldn’t be surprised if IRS audits them. The manager is only interested in making money but doesn’t value his employees only values profits. Go work with a designing company that values people not here.

I'm pretty disappointed with South Bay Design Center. I called a few days before Thanksgiving to inquire about a specific type of cabinets I'd seen on the website. The designer I spoke to (Linda) was unhelpful and a bit rude. I understand that people are sometimes stressed around the holidays so I asked if I could email my questions to her. She told me I could but she wouldn't respond until Tuesday after Thanksgiving and reluctantly gave me her email address. It's now December 10th and I've heard nothing from her, which in retrospect, is unsurprising based on how she treated me over the phone. Maybe this company has treated its existing clients so well that they don't care to convert new leads to sales...

Rude and suspicious manger; no honesty in business, fake ads take your attorney to yourself in their office. Highly not recommended .
