I used to frequent the Loma Mar store decades ago when, living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I would bike through the coastal hamlet en route to the South Coast Region once or twice a week. Returning lately, a couple years since the famed remodel, I was so pleased to see that my old haunt is greatly improved, with a beautiful new structure made, in part, from reclaimed wood, and a kind, friendly staff eager to be of service and reminisce about the good ol’ days. Whether you’re a local resident or an out-of-town visitor, this historic marketplace is truly special, an oasis for travelers near and far, providing heathy, hearty food, be it a brief stop on a scenic drive or a much needed respite on a multi-hour bike ride. For such a small town as Loma Mar, which is home to but a couple hundred people, this one-off gathering place is exceptional, and I am truly impressed with the quality and depth of items offered, including a number of familiar brands from Colorado, e.g. Boulder, IZZI, etc. So, if you’re in the area, be sure to stop by and grab a bite to eat; frankly you’ll be glad you did, for it’s quite unique, a cozy cottage of a store nestled in a lovely forest setting.

Our experience at Loma Mar restaurant was disappointing. Because the closure of the kitchen for almost an hour due to having only one cook meant we were unable to dine. Also, there is limited parking so plan accordingly. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that left us unable to enjoy what the restaurant had to offer.

A really sweet quaint spot, owners and staff are incredible, so friendly and kind. Excellent home made food! It's like a friend having you for dinner. And the dog greeter is just the sweetest!

Really cute shop / café in the middle of the forest. Good vibes with very nice workers. I went with my family around 2pm and they were still fairly busy. They said that anything on the menu would take about 30 minutes to make except for the soups - we were pretty hungry and so decided on the soups. The flavors were great but the serving was pretty meager, it was mostly broth. My 7 old said "it's like 3 beans with a spoonful of meat!" I found it pretty overpriced for what we paid. I'm guessing we just came at a bad time and they were just scraping the bottom of the barrel. Maybe they'll see this review and make a note of it for future diners. I'm sure the food is good but charging $18 for a burger with a 30 minute wait is a bit much. I would probably not come back unless it was the only option and they were not crowded.

Always delicious homemade food, as locally sourced as they can manage. Beer and cider on tap. Friendly and overworked staff who are always pleasant and give each customer their personal attention. The dining room is shared with a country store with pricey but thoughtful wares. The view out the windows and from the many outdoor decks is redwood forest. The store is regular host to motorcycle and sportscar rides to the beach.

Absolutely enchanting! My morning escapade to Loma Mar Store & Kitchen was a sheer delight! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere exuded warmth, making it an instant home away from home. The chicken sandwich and salmon bowl were both absolutely scrumptious. And let's not forget the wholesome mug of milk! Yum. The establishment itself is a testament to wholesomeness, with every table adorned with Poinsettias and a magnificent Christmas tree blessing us all from its perch by the window. The ambiance was simply delightful, like stepping into a cocoon of comfort. My personal highlight was the live music performance--a lone troubadour with his guitar, weaving melodies that carried the essence of his own life, sharing tales of Utah and his grandfather. It added a layer of intimacy to the already beautiful and cozy setting. As I soaked in the musical ambiance, I couldn't help but notice the genuine warmth exuded by an older, mustachioed gentleman. His heartfelt "nice to see you again" greeted each entrant, creating an atmosphere akin to a family reunion. A touching moment unfolded when he quietly covered someone napping on the couch with a blanket, embodying the spirit of care and kindness. In its entirety, Loma Mar Store & Kitchen felt like a cherished cabin nestled in the heart of the woods--a retreat from the cold blizzards of the outside world. The whole experience resonated as a solace, a haven where genuine connections and comforting moments thrive. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating my next visit to bask in the warmth and charm of this hidden gem.

The atmosphere was hella amazing and nature-like. The drive there and back was calm and beautiful and with food on top of it. Definitely a spot you'd need to check out.
Parking: Parking can be very tricky when it's crowded.

I'm really glad I made the drive for cars & coffee, the scenery was beautiful, and the coffee and pastries were nice. The folks inside were delightful and very patient with the crowd.

This place is a delight! Cozy historic cabin, recently and beautifully renovated, nestled in the middle of the forest. A great mix of cafe and meal items made with high quality, often local, ingredients. Husband said their Rueben sandwich is the best he's ever had. Staff is super friendly - very strong local neighborhood hangout vibes. We haven't been to many of their special events (live music, etc) but they host quite a few, and sometimes have special items on the menu for those occasions (eg a special Valentine's Day dinner). Definitely stop by if you live in the area or are enjoying a day trip to/from the coast.

I ordered a simple breakfast sandwich and it took over 40 min. Not sure the staff in the kitchen can multitask
