Wow, I loved the attention I received!!! Especially on Mary's side, she was super friendly at all times... I would like more variety of clothes, but it's really worth entering this place for such good attention!! They don't make you ugly for being Latina!! As in other stores… Thank you very much ☺️

My wife loves the jewelry at White House Black Market. We decided to come here over the weekend to see what new pieces they have and it turns out they no longer sell jewelry at this location. It is a shame because that is the main reason why we visit this store. Please bring back your jewelry!

This is the best retail store of WHBM left open. The ladies here actually try and help you style your clothes , they are warm and friendly unlike the other locations. I like this brand for their personalized shopping experience which is very hard to come by in retail. I miss their San francisco location which had good staff, from my limited experience their staff in valley fair appear tired and frustrated. The staff in hillsdale look bored and uninterested in you. You guys are doing something right at Livermore, try and replicate it elsewhere.

I have been shopping at WHBM regular retail stores and outlet stores for many years now. I have been in this outlet location at SF Premium Outlets in Livermore, occasionally, for the last few years. Tonight I went in to just look around, maybe buy something cute for Summer, like a dress. A sales lady was in the front straightening clothing, and immediately asked me if I'm looking for a certain type of clothes, and many other questions, which made me feel like I couldn't just browse without having to continue to turn around to keep responding to her. I humored her, and we even had a laugh over something after awhile, but nonetheless, it was actually pretty annoying. You have to give customers a chance to just look around the store, without nonstop questions or "advice" that is not wanted. I think it was because I walked in around 8:30 p.m., when the stores there close at 9:00, but that doesn't mean you act annoyed that customers come into the store at that time. After I finally found a few items to try on, I came out of the dressing room, went to the counter to buy a pair of pants, and she was standing there staring at some big book thing I guess doing numbers for closing time? She ignored me at first, then said "Hello..." which was weird of her, when she should have put the book down, and maybe said something like "those crop pants are so comfortable and cute, or whatever" but she continued to ignore me a few minutes, so I acted patient and then looked at a few tops while waiting. Then, she finally helped me, and while that was happening, another woman walked into the store, and the associate turns to talk to the other associate and says out loud, "there's a customer in the store...should I welcome her in?" I was kind of shocked that she just blurted that out in front of me. I don't think the other woman customer heard her, but I did. I used to work retail sales, and I sold clothes too. I worked closing shift most of the time in one popular store, and I would never say anything out loud in front of customers, that may offend them, or be rude to them. I would bend over backwards to help them, unobtrusively. That included when I was tired, hungry, and cranky, and had a painful backache too. I knew what my job was, to assist our customers, always. I may just stick with ordering WHBM online (on sale) from now on. I have also had previous issue with other locations, both levels of this store. Some associates have been friendly, but others were off putting. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and often tell them that I know what it's like since I worked retail too. A little empathy on my part, can go a long way to break the ice at times. I do "get it", it's like I was a member of the overworked and underpaid retail associates club, so to speak. However, providing service with a smile, and not being rude to anyone, is basically just doing what you were hired for. I took that to heart, and I think it's unfortunate that I find so many who do not these days. Maybe I should shop in the morning, cause I have seen this attitude before, when it's the last hour a store is open. Sigh.

I really wanted to like this place, but after my visit yesterday, I won't patronage this business. The sales representative made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome in the store. There were plenty of other people in the store, however, when I walked in all attention was on me! She immediately asked if she could help me with anything? Then 2 seconds asked me what am I looking for? I replied that I was looking for work clothes. Then immediately she started to follow me around the store. At this point, I was extremely uncomfortable. The final straw was when she asked for my shopping bags, which I gave to her to place behind the counter hoping that would stop her following me. Long and behold, it did. At that point, I was totally disregarded. Its disheartening that the sales representative assumed that because I am an African American woman that I would steal. I ended up not purchasing anything in the store, not because I didn't like the clothes, but because the experience made me feel so low. To top it off, because she had possession of my purchased items from other stores, I had to wait for her to assist other customers to retrieve my belongings to leave the store. Based on my experience, I will stick with Banana Republic and Ann Taylor.

Love White House Black Market! The outlets are much more affordable than the boutiques. The customer service here is great. They will get you a fitting room as soon as you have two items in your hands. Also they check in with you and help find different sizes if needed. The quality of the clothes is great and they always have what I'm looking for whether it is for work or for an event.
