Excellent stay at the Little River Inn for 4 nights in the White Cottage - the pics are from the back deck - you can sit and just listen to the ocean pounding against the rocks and watch the sunset and a sky full of stars! We also dined at the restaurant one night for dinner - service and food were excellent! And we ordered room service which was also great! We have stayed at other places and this is our 3rd visit in the Cottages! Already planning our next visit!

Don't believe the hype!! This place is overpriced and rundown. Hard beds, broken fireplace, cracked tiles and lots of rust in bathroom. The owner has cheaped out on lots of things. They don't even have real maple syrup at breakfast! One day we ordered room service because we had somewhere to be at a certain time. It was supposed to arrive between 8:30-9. (We ordered it the night before.) By 9:10 it still hadn't arrived. I called and they finally sent it up without all the items included in the description. Lots of excuses from employees. I would have given only one star but the view was spectacular.

We only ate at the restaurant. The price was hefty with 20% per person gratuity included in the tab. I mean the service was decent but I wasn’t even asked if I needed any refills and neither was my wife. The food was ok and our friends ordered the fish. I believe it was a Thai seasoning. I expected more from the menu but it was definitely different from what you would expect.

I've been going to Little River in for 60 years.,We used to go for dinner when is it was about $7.50 for 3 courses. Salad, abalone and berry cobbler. It was GREAT. For the last 20 years I would go up with 5 other couples and all stay in rooms next to each other and bring cocktails and bits to snack on and enjoy the glorious view. We went up sand few months ago and the old place is really showing wear. No more complimentary creams and soaps... just cheap bottles attached to the wall dispensing minute amounts . AND the prices have DOUBLED. So not worth close to $375 a night. The food is OK but used to be much better.?" I guess Covid really affected them. Anyway,we all agreed we won't be going back after many years of enjoying what it used to be. Trish Coveney-Rees

This was my first time staying here. Taylor at the front desk was such a delight! She was able to change our room so we had an unobstructed view of the ocean. And it was so worth it! The only problem we had, which was out of control of the hotel was an family that decided our room was going to be there new home! We did make mention of this but unfortunately we were just unlucky in not getting rid of them. The room itself was more than enough for my mom and I. This trip was a belated bday gift as she no longer lives in California. I love that they have taken on what looks to be like the new "thing" in having large refillable bottles of all the toiletry products. Made packing a lot easier. The restaurant was alao quite delicious. Although it's very off putting having the head still attached the rock cod was absolutely divine!! Big enough to split as well. All in all a great stay! I will absolutely be coming back and hopefully that family of has moved on!!

Love the view. Room service for breakfast great. Not thrilled about $10 for a microwave. Takes forever to get hot water. Old toilet, so low you can hardly get up. Beds great!! Very nice place all around. Will definitely come back.

We have stayed at dozens of places up and down the coast over the years and have always wanted to stay at the Little River Inn. This is now our favorite spot. We stayed in a Traditional room with the most amazing view. 2 queen beds and a table in a moderately sized space. Bathroom was larger than average and included a mini fridge and Keurig coffee machine. Staff was courteous and extremely attentive. After the first night the manager checked on us to see how things were, my only complaint was that the bed was a little firm to my liking and within hours they had placed a foam topper on the bed! It made a world of difference for me. 5 plus stars to the staff! We will most definitely stay here again.

I drove up from SF looking for a quiet getaway and the Little River Inn did not disappoint. The location is over looking the water and has absolutely stunning views. We opted for a room with a fireplace and ocean view - the room was clean and very spacious. We grabbed a drink at the bar before heading into town for dinner - the bartender/staff in general were all lovely & had plenty of recommendations for things to do in town. Would definitely suggest this spot to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay up north.

This was our first stay at the little river inn and it was an absolute dream. We got the rooms that had a balcony ocean view and the views were amazing. We checked in on a Friday and caught a beautiful sunset. The check in process was seamless and our rooms were ready earlier than expected. During our time at the inn, we had breakfast and enjoyed the four course Thanksgiving meal They had ample options for breakfast and really tasty coffee. Their thanksgiving course meal was amazing. We started off with a pumpkin/butternut squash bisque, an amazing bleu cheese, apple, candied walnuts with cider vinaigrette salad, a guinea hen plate with veggie medley and ended with an amazing pumpkin bread pudding (I still dream of that meal). The town of Mendocino is minutes away with lots to explore.

5 star stay, nice staff, cozy bed, had a nice breakfast delivered to our room and watched the ocean as we drank our coffee. Exactly the relaxing weekend we needed. Close drive to downtown and the botanical garden.

We had a lovely time celebrating our wedding anniversary. The Margaret Bullard room has fantastic views! The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We enjoyed exploring Mendocino & Fort Bragg.

This place is amazing. We relaxed on the deck and watched the waves hit the rocks, across the street for hours. If you like a great massage make an appointment with Su, you won't regret it. It was our first visit but not our last.

Accommodations in annex need to be updated especially bathrooms and carpets. Offers wonderful views and generally very quiet. Did not like auto 20% gratuity in restaurant. I prefer to tip based on quality of service and often exceed 20% but I want to make that decision. Celebrated our 46th visit to LITTLE RIVER this year AND it’s an annual trip for our family

We went up for a friend's wedding in late August and chose to stay here after reading reviews. It's a beautiful hotel, and while it's not on the ocean side of the highway, it does have nice ocean views. The girl at the check-in counter was less than friendly (what should never be the case at a hotel), but not rude. The rooms are quaint and not updated. They are also good-sized, and my only somewhat-aggravating complaint is there are two large chairs across from the fireplace, which block the view of the fireplace from the beds. And these same chairs also block the view of the TV from the beds. Normally, staying at a place like this, the size of the TV shouldn't be a priority, but my husband and I enjoy watching a little TV before we go to sleep. The TV is VERY small by hotel standards these days, and I had to try to move the chairs to the side to even get a slight view of the TV from the bed. I ended up putting books under it to try to elevate it a little bit. That would be my only complaint. Otherwise, the stay was wonderful, and we had breakfast, which was good, the next morning in their restaurant. It was overall a nice stay. My only suggestion would be that due to the costs of staying there, I would suggest making a few changes like getting larger TVs and a little nicer bathroom amenities.
