I had a not so great experience at this Petco last week, so I figured let me check out what Yelp has to say and I guess ignoring customers is a normal occurrence here. I thought maybe it was just an off night because at my regular location that I frequent I've never been ignored like this. I have been looking for a new hip and joint supplement for my 8 year old German Shepherd. First of all it took me a while to find the treats, surprisingly they are not with the toys??? They are right in front of the register area. Ok so now I'm looking and reading nutrition labels on a few brands. Not one employee ever came up to me the entire time I was aimlessly looking for the treats or while in the actual treat area. I can see the one cashier at the register. I didn't want to ask him because he was just standing there behind the register. The store was empty and I thought to myself maybe he can't leave his post? He definitely didn't want to be bothered with me. I was reading multiple labels googling what this means and what that means. I was in the treat section for at least 30 minutes trying to understand these labels. Not one single person was anywhere to be found. And I wasn't in the back of the store I'm right by the register area but racks and racks of clearance items were in between us, they weren't clearance items they were stock that wasn't put out onto shelves maybe because nothing had prices on them and there was no clearance signs either, that was confusing? I just don't get it? So only one person is working in this store after 6 on a weekday? I finally gave up and purchased our go to hip and joint jerky because I know exactly how many I need to feed my boy. But just annoying. Because when I walk up he asks me if I found everything ok, would I like a bag, really quick, he didn't care if I found anything at all. No smile no genuine care? Like are you kidding me, I've wandered the 3 isles in front of you for a half hour and how could you not have seen me trying to read labels one after the next phone in hand. But I'm not the only one with this problem, I read through the reviews and this location is known for being not so great. I just don't get it. And either this location doesn't have the same sales and deals as the Point Loma location or they don't put the signs up? Because I went to my normal place and so many different promotions were happening and this was the very next morning. I'm sure LG just doesn't put the signs up. I don't know why I'm so frustrated with this experience but it really was horrible? Maybe because the cashier just stood there behind the register and could have called someone else up to help. I don't recommend spending money here especially when you have to fend for yourself. No wonder nobody shops here, it's that bad.

It was one of the best experiences, Luna is very anxious and the whole care team was very understanding and accommodated my Luna to make sure she was in and out as fast as possible. The care team was super sweet to her and made sure she as comfortable, I’m honestly thankful and grateful they made my Luna’s experience great.

Came in today around 3pm and they do not have a large selection of treats for dogs. Lots of employees working but not alot of helping customers. Workers even had their food just chilling on their moving cart next to products.. anyways we stood in line waiting for someone to at the register to ring us up and when a worker came, she took the person behind us. We had already been waiting to be rung up. Wtf.Then when I heard this associate speak to the customer before us with an awful attitude, I decided I would not come to this location again. Workers are unprofessional and unfriendly. Just make the drive to a different location OR go to petsmart.It was one girl working the registers alone around 3pm. Petco lemon grove pls do better.

The Vetco at this location is a rip off and fake. It's not a real Vetco- they try to sell you a over priced package twice the price of a certified Vetco in la mesa or on mission george. I called the petco desk but they say they do not have access to the Vetco price list. That's how they make you drive down to this fake Vetco location

Worst grooming experience we've ever had. We've been to many different petco groomers since we move so often from the military. This made me not want to ever go back to a petco. We left our dog for a haircut and bath. His usual haircut and length is in there system and we always get the same cut and usually around the same length. They completely botched his haircut and I assume tried to fix it by completely cutting all his hair off. We did not receive a call like we expected to and luckily we just went in after 3 hours to check to see if he was ready and the groomer had left and locked the grooming area up. Luckily the store had keys so we could get him. The store had almost closed and had we not came to check, he might have had to stay there overnight! Will not be coming back and letting all my other dog owners know not to trust your dogs at this location.

Groomers are all friendly when you are there however it does not seem like they did the full service that was paid for a few weeks ago. The service requested was the premium service (bath, haircut, brushout etc). They were done in an hour even though I was told it would be 2-3hours (which is what most groomers take) but thought I would give this location a shot since it was by my work and my pup was due for a grooming session. They also didn't notify me that my pup was ready and left him alone in the kennel until I decided swing by and check up on him within the 2-3 hour window I was told to. If he was too much to handle, they could have just let me know.

If I can leave zero star I would've done thatIf you don't know how t give one haircut say so don't take the dog and give him back in ugly shapeI had a pomeranian and they gave him back after shaving no style in it and it was ugly, I always use another petco branch and they do a good job but this is so bad and they made you pay before you have your dog I think they know it's hideous for it and I am scared that what if his hair doesn't grew back

Don't get your dog groomed here my baby is suffering!!! They had some inexperienced lady cut my dogs nails !!! How's she has scabs n she's bleeding like crazy we thought she started her period !!! Don't go here ever !!!

Horrible Vetco services. I made 6 phone calls and no one can help me. They gave me an appoint for Dec.25th and I have been trying to get it changed and it's always, we're very busy and will call you back or it's the weekend and office is closed. If your services ante on Wednesday and Sunday, why can't you help me? Frustrating and no I am not saving any money.

Love the groomers, especially Hannah and Frida but I assume they are all nice. So good job with that Petco. I would love to give 5 stars because VitalCare has been so worth it. But the store in itself could use some Feng Shui and more product. The grooming work area is very, very warm. I don't understand it. Today it was 60 degrees outside. Inside the grooming area it was a humid 80-85 degrees. Petco, step it up and hook up your staff and our babies with proper ventilation. I assume cutting costs is to blame. Especially all the money for the Vetco renovation which is a total rip off IMO.

In the pictures there is a before and after. Frida G, one of the groomers here completely botched and traumatized my dog. I explained to her that I didn't want her to shave my 7 month old pup and that I just wanted a clean trim around the edges and I come to pick him up and he is completely shaved around his face INCLUDING his whiskers. He wined the whole way home and I am beyond upset. This was a rescheduled appointment might I add due to one of their groomers calling out less than ten minutes before my original appointment. I spent 50 dollars for this bs. I will be supporting small grooming businesses from now on.

Archie goes in with long hair and comes out looking like a Duke. Love how the ladies ALWAYS take such good care of him. Frida did him right and as you can see, his confidence shows it. THANK YOU

Not sure what is going on at this location. Store looks disorganized with empty shelves, product on the floor. Most likely the fault of a struggling manger. The guy that helped me was very nice.

Came in before 9 to buy a hamster today 06/27/22. Waited for a male employee to go find a smaller water bottle for the hamster we wanted as there were only rabbit water feeders available. Then Angel (said she is the manager) comes back instead of the employee and states they don't have any smaller ones. "That's fine" I say, can we go ahead and get the hamster ( just was going to buy the set up that has a bottle). She said "I wouldn't be able to sell you any because it's 4 minutes after we are supposed to leave". I honestly will be back for the hamster but I feel she should be talked to about this because if I was in the store before closing, waited for an employee, and still want to buy the hamster, I should be able to buy the hamster. Very disappointing and I am very dissatisfied as I buy my dogs 40-60 lb dog food bags, treats here religiously but I will need to switch locations as this is very disheartening as a continuous customer.
