I like the place people are friendly and helpful .... it almost seems a labor of love more than a business.4 stars because of 'the rest of the story'Alas, I have had poor success, not totally certain why on some ... the Fuji has quintupled in size in 11 months , a cherry (& other) died almost instantly ... I am accepting it as 'it is what it is' though uncertain where 'I' failed .... so for now still 4*

I love Hunter's Nursery. They are family owned and have a large variety of plants, trees, flowers, shrubs, succulents and cacti. I've always had success growing their plants,fruits, and veggies. The family and staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. Support local and family owned, shop at Hunter's Nursery.

This place is great they have a lot of options with helpful staff. We ended up getting 7 plants from them for our garden. Would highly recommend.

I loved the selection, quality and prices of the succulents available at this nursery. I recommend checking them out if you are out this way- or even making a special trip to visit them. There were succulent cultivars here that I haven't ever seen elsewhere. What a great discovery!

First and foremost, this is just a really cool place. If you look around in the "lobby" (checkout area), there are pictures of the nursery throughout the decades. I recently asked an employee about the photos, and he gave me some quick background about the family-owned nursery and its history of OVER 100 YEARS. Really cool. Hunter's offers both flowers/botanicals/etc.- but also a great selection of fruits, vegetables, citrus trees, etc. I have only been gardening for a couple of years, so when I went to Hunter's, I was a bit embarrassed to ask REALLY novice questions about what I should plant, when I should plant it, the frequency of watering, etc. etc... every staff member I have spoken with has been really helpful (and patient of my ignorance as a novice). If you live in the area, this is your nursery. I will be an ongoing customer here for as long as they're open (hopefully another 100 years).

I am extremely dissatisfied with the appalling customer service I received at this nursery. During my recent visit, the staff were not only rude but also impatient, trying to rush me out of the cashier while I was still in the middle of checking out with other staff. As a loyal customer for years, I am deeply disappointed and shocked by the treatment I received. I expect better treatment from a business that I have patronized for so long. Unless there is a significant improvement in the staff's behavior, I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future."

Gorgeous selection! Absolutely amazing service! They were beyond amazing and extremely helpful once I explained why I was there and what I was looking to do.. Especially once I explained I was attempting to rebuild my Grammas Garden that she spent years creating and maintaining with her own hands.. somehow I did not inherit her "Green Thumb" but I am trying my best to get her yard and garden back to its original glory.. thank you so much to the woman at the sales office for making this an enjoyable experience ?

Great local spot - I typically come by a few times a year for veggies as starts & seeds. A lot of seeds have been duds, but those were all San Diego seed company so probably not the fault of the nursery. Not a huge selection for starts of edible plants, but enough for me!

Went to go get the wife some plants for her birthday cause she's a plant lover and our house is secretly a green house. They had a HUGE variety and it was super well organized. Took my kids and the LOVED it. The women who work there were super helpful even when I asked for some tips for some of the plants. It was super nice.

If I can give them 10 stars, I would. I've been to multiple nurseries and Hunter's is by far my favorite in terms of plant selection, quality, price, and service! They carry a ton of trees and plants that are hard to find elsewhere. We wanted a Bronze Loquat and they were the only ones in the area that had it at the time (in fact, another nursery told me to check out Hunter's because they knew Hunter's carries a large selection of unique trees and plants). Their trees and plants are absolutely beautiful and at great price points. And the staff are the best part of it all - they are so kind, knowledgeable, and patient. I needed a lot of help with picking out plants, getting special plants ordered, and getting everything delivered because I didn't have a truck. They accommodated everything, kept me informed through the whole process, and were such a pleasure to work with!!! Thank you, Kindahl and team!

Large unique selection of plants, etc. Excellent and knowledgeable customer service. Prices are higher than other nurseries but much better selection and usually very healthy plants.
