The Cottage is a very special place that our son loves. He is excited to go to school each day to see what adventures await him. The teachers curate an amazing, warm environment where the children learn, have fun, and feel safe and loved. On any given day, the kids can create art, make music, build cities, play in the playground, farm in the garden, etc. Teacher Heidi and Teacher Shannon are both amazing, patient, and very quick to adapt to a child's needs whether it's playing on the playground or sitting quietly with a book. The icing on the cake is that there are benefits for the parents as well. You get to learn valuable, in-the-moment parenting skills, join an awesome community, and be active in your kid's school day. The school encourages social events amongst the families, and we've done some fun activities with great people who are now friends.

My daughter absolutely adores teacher Heidi and teacher Shannon. They set out a number of different enrichment activities every day, and I know that my child is in a safe and positive environment when I drop her off. Her growth and confidence in the past few months she's been there is very noticeable.

We joined the Cottage this year, and it's a wonderful place. Coming out of our Covid bubble into a school setting has been a unique change. The school is staying very safe with keeping the kids outside and masked right now. It's a shame we can't play inside the super cute building, but that hasn't stopped any of the fun and learning. I was worried that as a co-op and play-based school that it would feel more like a bunch of parents on a playdate, but I couldn't be more wrong. The teachers are so great at creating purposeful learning opportunities from multi-day art projects to group bike rides. There is learning taking place everywhere. We are so happy to be a part of this sweet school with two amazing teachers.

The Children's Cottage Co-op of Marin is a wonderful, creative, and safe place for children to have their first experience of school, prior to kindergarten. The co-op fosters a rich sense of community between the children, the parents, and the staff in which everyone contributes to the creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for the children. Our son absolutely loves "The Cottage," the teachers, and his classmates. My wife and I are delighted that he's able to have such an enjoyable and wholesome first educational experience.

This is our second year at the cottage and we absolutely love it, as we walk through the doors we feel a warm community around us. Teachers are truly committed to the kids, they make sure that each of them it's respected and that they get an opportunity to set boundaries with other kids, using their voice and expressing their feelings. Our daughter learn this and more while she is playing and having fun. Also the learning opportunities at the cottage are not exclusive for kids, I've learn so many effective tools from watching the teachers and other parents, it's like taking a master degree in parenting while you're cooping with your kids.

This is my son's happy place. I feel so lucky to be able to be part of his very first school experience!I know and love all of his classmates and their parents because we are community educating our kids together. When I work at the school I feel so fulfilled, and at times, it is like I am taking a parenting class. I get to see the teachers and other parents modeling kind, respectful interactions with the kids, which has taught me to be that way too.I we first started I was worried that my son would cry when I left him there on the days I didn't work, but instead he cried when I picked him up because he didn't want the fun to end. This is such a special school. My son has been here since he was two and a half and I will definitely be enrolling my daughter here when she is old enough!

We just joined the Children's Cottage this month and it already feels like our second home. My son keeps talking about the teachers and all his buddies there! He’s so happy and excited. And so am I. Joining a community of like-minded parents, especially with my own family living far away in Germany, is a dream come true. In my experience it really takes a village to raise a child and the Children Cottage is that: A wonderful, kind, wise, and loving village!

Great community based preschool! Our kids love coming to school. It has a great library, dress up room, activity room, art room and a huge playground. Kids are free to go where they like to play and each area has a co-oping parent with an activity for the day that they can do... or not! Very play-based and lots of encouragement for kids to learn social skills and building blocks for big school!
