Any store that carries batteries, needs to have a drop off bag for used batteries..I came in today and I dropped off batteries before, and they said they just throw them in the trash and would not take my battery. What kind of business does this? they don't care about doing the right thing, meaning they don't care about the environment.. NO ONE SHOULD EVER DROP BATTERIES IN THE TRASH...DO YOU WANT TO SHOP AT A PLACE LIKE THIS? I don't

Just got laughed off the phone for asking to remix a gallon of paint. Other stores offer this service but I figured I would call. The person on the phone not only mocked me but called over another person to the phone and they both laughed. I guarantee they would not have spoken to a man in that way and I have had it up to here with men in the hardware/building industry being misogynistic. I try to support small businesses but I’ll be going to Home Depot now, their indifference is far better than being mocked. A simple “no, we don’t offer that” would have sufficed. Off to remix my own paint!

Just left this store and I honestly cannot believe there are as many (or any) positive reviews. Their customer service gets zero stars given that I got zero assistance. No one else in the store but me, two employees, zero help. I'm not even sure if the employee at the cash register was actually breathing. If you live in that neighborhood it's probably convenient to have a place to grab misc hardware items. But, if you people want to know what Ace is actually suppose to be like, visit the one in San Rafael or Novato (or anywhere else) -- those employees are very eager to help. Now, I think I'm gonna call Corbet's and have someone check on that cash register dude.

I've shopped at Corbet's for over fifty years and always found the people to be knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Glad I have an excuse to take a minute and say thank you: I was taken by surprise when, because of an unusual gust of high wind, my new patio umbrella fell over with a crash. I'd purchased it at Corbet's, so I called them to ask what to do. The woman I spoke with suggested weighing down the base with sandbags. So I went back this morning to pick up the sandbags and the hundred pounds of sand needed for best stability. The young man who helped me could see that I would have a great deal of difficulty transferring the hundred pounds of sand into the sandbags by myself, so he offered to do the job for me before I left the store. It was a difficult job, and I was truly grateful for his kindness. Little things make a big difference. And Anthony made a big difference in my day.

These folks are survivors! Having been surrounded for years by road and bridge construction they nevertheless continue to attract enough customers to stay in business. That's due entirely to a very knowledgeable and friendly staff!

Very helpful staff! Led me right to where the product should have been on the shelf. They didn't have any, but said it would be fulfilled on Thursday. I was then able to have two keys made right away on a weekday morning. Neighborhood hardware stores are the best.
