We held a ball for approximately 250 guests on March 16, 2024, mostly high school JROTC students. Venue was great--we had plenty of room for the tables and a dance floor; the stage was fantastic for setting up the DJ; the food and staff were great!; lighting and temperature were great! We kept the costs down with a buffet option. Mark Rivera was very helpful with all of our requests, needs and questions up to and including on the day of the event. We plan on using this facility again.

Nice place for an event. Attended the APWA BEST award luncheon. The service was good. Food was pretty good for a catered event. The main room is located upstairs on the second floor. Lots of parking available. Located next door to lakewood city hall.

Everything was enchanting! The only issue I had was where our position table location was right in the pathway of waiters coming through to serve the guests was from behind the drapes. Guess where our table was?!?! Constantly leaning forward to let them pass.. ? they were coming from behind curtains in different directions.

If you are looking for the perfect venue for an event, Look NO further, The Centre is THE PLACE!! From day one with meeting with the director of events, Mark Rivera, to the day of our event, we had nothing but GREAT SERVICE. We sat with Mark and let him know what we needed, and he worked with us to select the perfect menu, the perfect set up for our event, and I left there knowing Mark had taken all the stress away.On the day of my sister's Celebration of Life the Great Service continued. The staff was Amazing. They helped whenever we needed extra help. They went above and beyond what was expected. They never made us feel like we were bothering them with our extra requests. Great Service with a Smile Always.If you are looking for a venue that serves Great Food, this is the place. They have an excellent selection of meals to choose from, and we ended up selecting the Soul Food Buffet. Oh Boy, was the food AMAZING. One of the most important things in a Samoan Event is the Food, if the food is not good, then no matter how beautiful everything else is the guests will only talk about the food being terrible. Well, ALL our guests had nothing but great things to say about the food, that means everything we planned for my sister's Celebration of Life was Beautiful.This will not be the last time we will use this Venue. We will be planning future events here.Thank you TGIS Catering for the Delicious Food, and thank you Mark and the crew for the Great Service!!!

We booked our daughter’s first birthday at The Centre, and we were so happy that we did. It was an absolute pleasure working with Yessel. We had a couple of outside vendors/services, and she made the planning and organizing very easy and manageable. Yessel was very flexible and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The food was good and the servers were helpful with our requests on the day of the event. Everyone enjoyed the party and gave lots of compliments. This was the largest party that we’ve hosted so far, and it was honestly the least stressful to plan. We’ll definitely book The Centre again for any of our big events in the future:)

We had my dad's memorial luncheon in the Maple Room. We picked The Centre because Mark Rivera was so helpful, professional and sensitive to our needs. He helped us with the menu, using his expertise to build the menu and set up of the Maple Room. The food was outstanding and the service staff gets 5 stars for the attention they gave us. I highly recommend The Centre for any event you are looking to have. My family sends our thanks to Mark and his staff.

As residents of Lakewood, Downey, and Bellflower my family and I have rented this hall several times over the years. From my grandparents 90th birthday to my mothers 60th birthday, We have never had to deal with waiting staff so unprofessional impatient, and rude. From its inception I personally witnessed staff talking under their breathe about using explicit language(in a different language, unbeknownst to them we are bilingual family), micro aggressions, derogatory terms about us, and threats of "kicking us out" over simple miscommunication on their part.If it weren't for the milestones, sanctity, distance traveled by the OVER 100 guests, of these events I would have ended this event mid party regardless of money lost. Lakewood is a beautiful place that three generations of my family have grown up in, and I have NEVER dealt with anything like this.(This doesn't not include food quality, food service, food being taken away without notice after we clarified PRE party, or "missing" food)
