Not in order of preference: I put Sams Club, CostCo , Stater Brothers , Smart & Final in my preferred places to shop. If I don’t want to buy large quantities the last two are a toss up with S&F for produce, and dried beans. I choose Stater Brothers for meats due to quality, price, and old fashioned butcher shop choices and service.

The manager of this store instructs the employees that they can pick and choose who has the bottom of their cart scanned at checkout. I watched him and others scan some carts and decide not to scan others. Notice for yourself when you are checking out.

I was in this Lakewood store today and the cashier #40047 was acting like I was such a bother and I was in a motorized scooter. I brought in 1 bag and he asked if I wanted another and said yes. Common sense didn't go far with him either. He put all items except refrigerator items in the freezer bag that I brought in. I bought 1 bag and he puts a hot chicken in, instead of my remaining items. He just left everything on the belt and put his back towards me and standing like he couldn't be bothered. I gave him a coupon and asked if the clipped coupon was used as well. He turns back at me and said yes and turned back around. I paid and was going to the end of the check stand to get my things to put in my basket. He wouldn't help me at all. He just rudely pushed the stuff to the end because I was in his way for the other customer that had already started checking out. He needs a new job that doesn't require customer service. I felt very uncomfortable and I am very irritated now. Not sure if I should even go back if this is the type of person that's going to be checking me out.

My first time to this location. I was going to Sprouts Farmers Market in the same shopping center, but I thought that I would check out Smart & Final first. This store has all of the healthy foods that I like to buy and it's cheaper. The cashier, Johnelle was very courteous.

Apparently, smart and final got bought out, and they fired everyone and are only rehiring them if they accept lower wages. Won't be back! Lame move bodega latina corp. Spoke to someone here who worked for YEARS here, and they were tossed aside as if their years of service meant nothing. Won't support a company that does this. Absolute trash move.

The store itself seemed pretty clean and organized. Came in looking for a couple things. One of them being tissues. I just needed a store brand, which they did not have. Only name brand paper products were available. They should have more options available, especially with the cost of things these days. The parking lot was also crowded and I had to park far away (near the Marshalls).

Before the pandemic I was going here all the time. Now I look at their prices compared to walmart and I wont step foot in the place. Its almost criminal what they are charging for some stuff. Basket of stuff her vs walmart could easily favor walmart by 50.00 or more. And with walmart I get it on the app and go by and pick it up for free (over 35.00 total). its a no brainer. No idea why people shop here. i guess they dont care about prices or they just need a few quick items. I was getting a couple items like flour and cooking oil. WM was dollars cheaper. I could have kicked myself but I was in a hurry. Its like shopping at 7-11
