I wish this wasn't one of the only Petcos nearby that sold prescription food because the customer service here is subpar and this store basically has us at its mercy with their supply. I've been coming here for years overlooking the small things. If you're understaffed, hire more people. If you have crap staff, hire new people. If you're out of stock quickly for particular food, maybe order more food for your location? Calling here can be pointless, it's rare to be answered and I have even been hung up on or even lied to about supply. My heart goes out to the lone cashier handling customers without any help, not being able to answer phone calls. I can understand that. But why is the Petco Lakewood location so terrible compared to Downey or Long Beach? Luckily, I won't be back and bother your team by calling once every two weeks, or even less, just to ask if you have a particular food available. What a nuisance of a customer I must be. Calling to ask for one product that you are out of stock of very often. I just didn't like arriving to be told that my trip there was in vain. I spoke to an employee today over the phone who suggested I go to PetSmart. Thanks for the advice. I called Corporate and let them know. Thankfully they hooked me up. I doubt your employees even care about these Yelp reviews but hopefully you start treating loyal customers better.

Most awkward and worst experience ever with a vet. We got to the vet care signed in exactly at our appt. The attendee asked us to sign some papers, so we did. Then, the same girl by the name of Destiny says to us, " Would you be OK with your dog getting checked by the doctor without you guys going in just until we find a room? And we said yes, no biggie. Here is where it gets weird the nurse and vet come out really frustrated telling us that the dog is super aggressive and they couldn't check his ears, now I knew he was lying because my dog is very playful but not aggressive so I asked him why he didn't allow us to go in there with him that might be able to help him calm down if what he said was true. The vet says to me no, that could not happen because we showed up late to our appt and I said "who said that" we were here on time and he looked so stupid looking around saying well they just told me. I also don't remember the name of the nurse that was with him, but she came out super aggressive with us. They were allowing other people before us, and I couldn't understand why we were treated with such disrespect. The vet had a stuttering problem, but that wasn't the problem. The problem was him and his demeanor, his body language told me he was very frustrated and I want to know why we deserved to have been treated with such disrespected cuz I could of raised he'll in there f0r their unjustful actions but I was more professional about it then these lames could ever had been.

Not enough clerks around to answer questions. Went there looking for Gentle Giant cat food (advertised much on TV) but they didn't have it and just said "maybe it's online."

From start to finish the Vetco in Lakewood was phenomenal. I came in with an urgent vet matter and they were efficient, compassionate, and informative. I'm glad to have them as my vet!

Worst experience at PETCO GROOMING. We show up at our scheduled appointment. How are you going to tell me on the spot that you cancelled our dogs appointment? Your staff messaged me that you will keep our appointment at 2:15pm? The smirk of that younger girl is that one the really pissed me off. Unprofessional and will not be coming back. It is not funny.

I don't even know where to start, -0000000 stars for THE GROOMING DEPARTMENT! I would like to know how they find these workers and if they go through any background check? For this type of work, you must LOVE animals and understand they have emotions. Having a 3-4 hour timeframe to groom a dog is unnacceptable, especially when you take walk ins over appointments in which you did in my case ? and then when I complained you charged me a VIP fee of $15.00 for all four of my dogs because you "say" you got them done super fast in over 2 hours? I spent over $300.00!! Dog 1 of 4: I was charged an extra $10 because he was getting a shorter shave, HE WASN'T EVEN SHAVED OR NOT EVEN TRIMMED, what did you do? His face, yes, but the body is the same. Dog 2 of 4: was shaved completely down , in this freezing weather, only to be told by my family that this is the ugliest hair cut they have ever seen (mind you, I have been grooming all four of my pups for the last 2 years and my work is impecable compared to todays rushed job) this is my one year old puppy that was diagnosed with meningitis and she has been acting strange every since I picked her up. She just wants to lay in her bed, very sad! I have her currently wearing 2 sweaters, wrapped in a blanket on my lap sitting in front of a heater. She is practically bald, this is unnacceptable. She has no appetite either!! and not interacting with the other dogs one bit. Dog 3 of 4: charged the same amount only to get sanitary cuts Dog 4 of 4: decent, but not worth $80.00 m(15.00 of it was this VIP charge). The workers, one I spoke to on the phone I think her name was "Lizzie" super cold and was appalled that I called asking when my dogs will be ready! Another guy there, ( he should be drug tested, seriously), the utmost unprofessional service worker Ive ever dealt with-told me to come get my dogs before they start, when I was just letting them know that I will not allow my 4 month /1 year old puppies to stay there for 4 hours while they take walk ins and make mine sit in kennels! This is abuse, sorry! You gave me some bogus excuse that it depends on the dogs tempermant and how they will do with the grooming process, BS, if you know what your doing and you have a system, of not overbooking, you SHOULD NOT take 4 hours for one dog! and your attitude sucks man! you don't talk like that to a paying client, especially one spending over 300.00! So screw you guys, as I told you I would never trust you with any of my dogs and your policies! I will be taking this to a higher level and reporting you to BBB! You workers are clearly miserable and this is the wrong field for you! Your lack of compassion towards the pets shows the misery! None of you expressed any type of kindess or empathy towards any of the pets that came in today- I was there two hours waiting and watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shame on you

Improper trained pet grooming personnel. animal's can sense bad behaviors in hunan they don't treat pets with care. stay away. go to other locations instead for your pet groomjng.
