Awful experience. Overcharged by $1300. Grand total 4 weeks 4,022 miles tesla $3,599.00 with Uber discount. I proved $1,300 overcharge and 2 months later they refund $750. I give up on the rest. Awful deal, awful customer service, and bills so complicated hertz can't explain. Never again.

It’s always the petty people who make a business have lower than 5 star rating.This Hertz is a complete 5, Nick and Christian are amazing, yes sometimes calls tend to take longer to be taken but they’re human and some people are fully knowledgeable about rental sites and prices or simply outdated from using common internet sense.Definitely will ALWAYS go to this site when re tal is needed again.

Very rude not friendly at all in the car was dirty and I spoke to the guy and he said there was nothing that he can do about it because they short of staff the big guy with the red beard in Lakewood didn't appreciate his comment if you have to take your business elsewhere maybe you might get somebody nicer

Absolute garbage customer service. I heard the guy saying he treated everyone there like family, I am glad I'm not related. When you have 10 people in your lobby stop answering the phone, or put them on hold. If you give away someone's car because they're late due to extenuating circumstances, upgrade them dont charge them double, it's what the airport does and you should to.

Overall poor experience started with underwhelming assistance. I don't expect anyone to be excited, but the person who helped me was going through his motions to rent the car but not very personably and not keeping me informed of what was going on. I'm not new to car renting at all, but this was still a different and inferior experience.The class of car I reserved (compact) wasn't available, so I was offered a tiny economy (Spark?) or told I could upgrade to the Kia Optima for $10 more a day. I expressed my feeling of unfairness and the person helping me arranged the Kia at no additional charge, which seemed like the right thing to do.We went to the vehicle and he started walking around the vehicle and snapping photos. Itwas obvous this was to establish the condition of the car prior to my taking it, but it seemed odd this wasn't done beforehand. Then, I was presented the electronic device (like a mobile phone / small tablet) and asked to sign. I asked what I was signing for as I had been given no documents and wasn't comfortable just signing. The person helping me explained a few things that I was agreeable to, so I did sign, but I was still concerned about being asked to sign something I didn't read.When I got into the car it had a smell - kind of like cleaner but also a little funky. It was hot, so I figured maybe the car was cleaned and it was just a strong smell of that and it baking in the sun. I didn't think much of it until I got the car home to load up for my trip. I popped the trunk and was met with a face full of stench! After holding back a gag, I observed what looked like mildew stains on the carpet of the trunk board. Some prior renter must've had some wet items in the trunk and it wasn't aired out or cleaned, causing it to mildew and smell terrible.I called Hertz immediately to discuss options. The location was already closed, so I couldn't return to swap out the vehicle. I was offered to take it to another location to exchange, but I had to get on the road to meet my schedule, so I headed out with a stinky car intending to swap it out when I got to my destination. It was a really tough drive with that smell, but I had no good alternative.At my destination, I was able to remove the trunk board (revealing some dampness underneath, too) and left the trunk open to air out in the sun. This mostly took care of the smell, enough that I decided to keep the car versus spend the time to swap it at the nearest Hertz, which was an hour away.When I returned the car, I pointed out the issue to the person helping me. He was kind enough to apologize, but I didn't get any explanation as to how a car in such poor condition was allowed to be rented out.I usually rent from airport locations and chose this Hertz location because it's closer and I thought would be more convenient, but the limited operating hours and general experience have me regretting the choice.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. As a car rental company they have one principal function, to provide cars to people who have made reservations. Not only could they not provide a car for a reservation made a week ago, they couldn't even ensure they'd have one the next day. On top of that, they didn't have the courtesy to call us, email us or send us a text message the night before or the morning of our scheduled pick-up so that we wouldn't have taken time off work. Now we have to reschedule our other appointment with the auto repair shop and start the process all over. One thing for certain, we will not be going to Hertz Car Rental in Lakewood!
