Friendly staff, great choices. Different from a regular market, they make fresh tortillas and many baked goods. Breads, cookies. Great salsa.

This place used to be good, but everything is way too expensive now and some things they don't even post the price of so it's a surprise at the register. Example- green apples around Christmas were $1.79 lb, 10 cents more per pound than Albertsons and they looked like crap. Yesterday Cherry tomatoes $4.99 /pint $1.00 more than Albertsons which are Organic and theirs aren't. Tamales 2 per pack $4.99 but they tasted AWFUL! Chicken in one and Chili cheese in the other. The medium salsa with no name on it was almost slimy and no flavor, don't recall the price. Today when I went to Grocery Outlet and complained to a worker there about it and she told me she got bad meat from the back counter and although she had a receipt and just bought it, they refused to take it back, so she just left it there, the bald owner asked her what am I supposed to do with it and how do I know you didn't leave it out to go bad? . I will never go back to this place that used to be good but isn't anymore!

Prices on most items are higher than Albertsons or Costco so I suggest you pick and choose what items you need to buy. I go to Costco for big ticket items that save our family money plus I get 2% back at the end of the year. So far Garden Farms has decent deals on produce and vegetables plus their deli is exceptional unless the food has been sitting too long. The meat department and butchers are willing to take custom orders and if you want a half rack of a cow they will order it for you. It's nice to know that most butchers there can handle a large order when necessary. I've seen prices on meat and chicken increase and decrease but since Covid it is definitely higher post Covid! In my opinion I think that they have good deals on certain items but for the average shopper who likes to save money then use your brain to get items at a bigger store for less money and come to Garden Farms for your items that help you save money. The only thing that really was a false promotion was the "FREE EGGS". In the beginning it was 20 free eggs for $60, then $80, then $100 and the free eggs went from 20 to 12 so this was never a deal since their normal higher prices technically pay for the FREE EGGS! It's just a gimmick to get you to buy more. Originally the $60 deal for 20 free eggs seems reasonable but now it's not. I buy my eggs at Costco by the 5 dozen and it's way cheaper. I still believe that Garden Farms has decent prices only on certain items or items that go on sale in their weekly ad but other than that it's still a store for profits and you can see it in the prices when you actually look around and use your brain. I must say that the freshly squeezed orange juice is nice but the price has dramatically increased so I don't but it as much any longer. If the prices are lowered then I would shop there more and give more to a local market but that's not the case post Covid.

I stopped in the other day for a few items, I was pleasantly surprised!! It's been quiet a while since I have been in and whoa.... Had it changed!!! They have a super nice hot food section, with Mexican food and rotating ethnic dishes!! I picked up a pack of freshly made flour tortillas and they are delicious! They also had hot tamales available!!The produce area was very extensive and smelled fresh and looked great! I will definitely be going back to pick up some hot items and probably some of that amazing Oscars salsa!

Incredibly unhelpful staff. I called to ask about a flyer that was hung up on their doors with a special as I wanted to share it for those who could benefit and were in need and I was told by the employee that I could drive by and look at the flyer myself? Incredibly unhelpful, would it have taken such an effort to look over to their door. They had many flyers up. I have actually had other incidents with bad customer service. I was once continuously harassed by an employee about owing money because "my grandmother stole food items from the store" even though my grandmother has been dead for 10 years now?! I said this every time and the employee continued to accuse me of owing money. Not all staff is incredibly unhelpful and bad. It's just my personal experience but I know they have some nice individuals.

Go here for most all my produce..good selection and prices verses the big chain stores. . They have loyalty program to get free eggs and they are nice enough to give me tortillas instead since I don't eat eggs. The tortillas are fresh and best in town. I like the weekly text to see their add on my phone !

First time, drove from Mission Valley, 26 miles and spent $78. Not bad for first time. Thought I would get doz eggs free. No had to spend $100. Should have gotten credit for the mileage. ?My sister lives in Lakeside and referred me.

This store has a wide variety of food and good prices on a lot of items. We purchased T-bone steaks a while back for less than $6.00/lb. and they we great on the grill.
