Very good veterinarian. They saved my dog. Their prices are fair. They really care about your pets.

Middletown Animal Hospital is $20 less expensive than Wasson for an assessment and plan of care. A checkup. I'm not sure exactly what constitutes as gouging, but it seems to me their prices are that. It's worth the drive to Middletown or Santa Rosa to avoid the apparent monopoly Wasson & Main St vet have on northern Lake County. Very disappointing.

One star too many in my opinion. They don't care for me either. This hospital is a disgrace to the community in my opinion because of the way they treat clients. I am a former client from about 6 years ago. They are popular and I liked Chris Holmes but they do not support their customers. For example, if you need shots they do not help you. Several times, I had vacation plans and they would not fit me in for shots with 6-8 week window, so I could bring the 2 dogs to a kennel that required up to date shots. 3 x that happened. I spent thousands with them before and I was neglected repeatedly. I dumped them, and they me about 6 years ago. Now, I just adopted an amazing dog Monday after he was neutered. He hasn't peed for four days. They won't service their work because our prior dispute. There is no other vet with openings. My vet does not have any emergency openings.Their policies are criminal. The pound says he is not worried. But with scarcity of vets, and he is not a vet, and with such a serious issue.... This dispute we had did not involve money, just giving me time for shots with an 8 week window. Now I use petvet for shots because they are all busy with a scarcity of vets. If you are new in the area you should know, they will not meet your needs when you need them. This is not just my experience. I am a local professional and I take writing this review very seriously. My dog Max's plumbing is working. Yay. But my experience with Wasson should be shared. I have met Chris Holmes socially and I thought he was a kind person, but people should know that there is a problem with clinic. Not All I did was dare to complain, but it was routed in hopes they would do their job.

Horrible experience! They charge OVER $365 for a spay! RIP OFF! Other vets around Lake County only charge $165 for a spay. Wasson is a rip off. I will never go there ever again! Dr. Canan must have bought her license to practice out of a cracker jacks box! DO NOT RECOMMEND this over charging, plus lack of real care to animals. Dr. Jerri Waddington in Clearlake is absolutely awesome! GO THERE!

I am not someone who normally writes reviews, but I felt compelled to write one for the Wasson Memorial Veterinary Clinic. I have been taking my dog here for a couple of years now. The service and care has been nothing short of amazing. From the front office staff to Dr. Cannon, they all do everything possible to accommodate my dog's needs. Most recently, my dog was experiencing seizures. I was a drop-in on a busy Saturday morning. They, without hesitation, took my dog in and provided him the necessary love and care. That same Saturday night, my dog was still experiencing seizures. I called the after hours number at 10pm seeking additional advice. I left a message. Within 15 minutes, I received a call back from Dr. Cannon! This day and age, how many businesses provide this kind of care? Dr. Cannon gave me very helpful advice to care for my dog. The advice was spot on. Thank you staff and Dr. Cannon for your amazing service and care!

Not happy with support staff. Calls in on average take 10-20 minutes to get someone on the phone. Dan is extremely arrogant and rude. Does not care about people or their pets. while I was calling for help for my dog who was having a reaction after recent surgery there, and not getting helped and being rudely spoken to, I questioned Dan about his lack of caring for my dog & me. He replied by saying that he cares a lot more about my dog than he does me. There have also been mix ups with special diet food orders, as well as yelling at my drugged dog who was yelping after surgery, from behind closed doors. This is not a good fit for me & I will never return to this vet's office. I was happy with Dr Holmes. We saw him our first visit with both of my dogs. I would recommend him.

This place should be closed down. Worst place to seek help for your sick pet. Sure they're cheap but they misdiagnosed my pet. Receptionist could care less about helping anyone that needs emergency care. He knows their answering service doesn't work properly, hangs up on calls just before they answer making it impossible to get an appointment and will tell you if you don't like it go somewhere else. I did and I'm much happier that I did. Would not recommend

I can honestly say the worst vet experience I've ever had. If you want polite, prompt service, this is not the place. I highly recommend that you read all the reviews to see what you're getting yourself into.

If you told me you were taking your animal here I would BEG you not to! After waiting 43 minutes on hold just to get an appointment I waited over 40 minutes in the reception area waiting to check in with my sick dog waiting in the car. We had to put our dog down that day &our doctor showed ZERO compassion, almost to the point that she was annoyed. Like that day wasn't hard enough. I had to ask her to check for a heart beat after the euthanasia was given and she seemed irritated at that. Due to their insanely high prices they went as far as to recommend I pack up my dead dog and transport her myself to animal control for a cheaper cremation. I've never been treated with less compassion by anyone in my life!

I have had the worst luck lately with this vet. I loved them! They were the best in Lake County but now you can't even get an appointment. Everything is multiple weeks out and they charge you an emergency fee for squeezing you in even if the appointment is still a few days out. This week was the final straw and I will be taking my business elsewhere. I had made an appointment to put my dog to sleep this Saturday but on Friday she took a turn for the worst and was in pain. She was crying and shaking and couldn't walk or stand. She would Yelp out in pain. I called multiple times around 5:30 knowing it was after hours but left a message with the on call doctor explaining the situation. I never got a call back. My animals have been treated there for 8 years and they couldn't give me 15 min to end her suffering. I drove my dog to Santa Rosa listening to her scream the whole way. They were able to quickly euthanatize her to end her suffering. I understand there are staffing issues but something has to change.

I am thrilled beyond words with the care that Norsled rescue Hooper received. He was shot in the back leg, shattered the bone to the point where we resigned ourselves to the fact that he would be an amputee. The leg went untended for over six weeks. We heard about Wasson and called. Most vets are so jam packed it would take weeks. Dr. Susan Cannon took him in within 3 days. The day Hooper was supposed to be amputated, Dr. Cannon called me in the morning. She said she felt she could plate the leg and save it. Did we still want to amputate? WOW! For a very reasonable cost compared to Bay Area. I was shocked since the injury was old and the bone very fragmented. Sure enough, not only did she save the leg, she kept within her estimate, threw in all the medications and the stapled wound looks beautiful. Four paws up for this amazing surgeon. We are very very grateful Dr. Cannon. I give Dr. Cannon 10 stars

I was in camping in the area when my dog Stitch got a foxtail up his nose. I called every clinic in the area and Wasson was the only one able to see my right away. Otherwise I would have had to drive to Santa Rosa area. The took Stitch in shortly after I got there and had his out to me in less than an hour. I have had to him to the vet for a foxtail before and they charged much more, made me wait longer and held Stitch for hours after. I was very grateful for the care, efficiency and fairness of cost at this vet. I would definitely return if needed.

Absolutely amazing experiences every time we've brought our kitties here. Dr. Jeske is an angel... always takes her time to listen to our concerns and explain everything and truly cares about the animals she works with. We've trusted her with 2 kitty surgeries and plenty of other appointments, and she has gone above and beyond every time for our babies. Most recently, we found a sick stray kitty and rushed him to Wasson knowing he'd be in good hands. Once again, Dr. Jeske provided the best care and got him stable and ready for adoption. Wasson held him for 2 nights, offered to neuter him for free, and gave us an amazing discount on his care which was unexpected and really appreciated. Truly an exceptional vet office

I had what was an unfortunate and not so great experience speaking to one of the vets at Wasson recently. My dog was having an emergency and his normal vet could not see him. I had already driven down during the night to the emergency vet in Santa Rosa to be turned away so I waited all night for any Lake County vets to be open and since Wasson is known for having an emergency vet, I figured I would try them. I called after 8am and both times I got a voicemail stating the office was closed and if there was an emergency to call the on call vet. I did so and left a message. Within 20 minutes I got a call back, but instead of trying to help I was told I didn't listen to the voicemail and that the doctor will not return calls while the office is open. I tried to explain that the recording said very clearly the office was closed but the vet did not listen. She berated me for not listening to the message and that it very clearly says if they don't answer they are busy and to call back again. So I called back the office, five more times, and every time got a message stating that it was closed. I called back the emergency vet and left her a message to let her know that was the case. At least twenty minutes later, well past 8am (I kept trying the phone lines) they finally switched the phones to "open," around 8:30. The receptionist was very kind and while they were not able to get my dog in, at least she answered and did not use that time to imply I was an idiot who can't listen to a voicemail. I understand being short staffed, and I get that being on call sucks, but when someone calls in tears because they are afraid their dog will die, following the instructions given by the office voicemail, it's not super helpful to berate them and tell them to follow instructions "properly," particularly when that person is in fact following the directions they were given.
