Food tastes great and big portions. Open late, lots of employees to get things done faster, clean dining area, refillable fountain drinks. Always love going here.

Clean, well organized, well managed "sandwich shop". ? (so much better than calling it that)Another place I went to recently claimed to have the best pastrami sandwich in Orange County. While theirs was very good, it doesn't compare to The Hat.I've eaten at several of their locations and all are superb!!!This visit I got carried away with my order. I ordered a "Pastrami Dip", and an order of "Pastrami Fries". Each on their own can feed two comfortably. The fries are a monstrous mound of taters topped with a generous pile of pastrami (one can add chili and cheese if desired - I didn't).Then there's the sandwich...A soft fresh French style "loaf", about 12 inches, piled with pastrami and had pickles and yellow mustard on it as well.Very Very good...incomparable!!!No, I didn't even finish the fries; I ate the pastrami off the top along with a few fries, took the rest of the fries home.Didn't even touch the sandwich until later in the evening. My beverage was an "Orange Bang".I love Orange Bang, but it's not for everyone...rather sweet.Service was quick and efficient, as was the preparation of the order.Worth the Trip, the Visit, and the Price.

Everything they make is delicious. My favorites are their pastrami dip and cheeseburger, and ordering their Pina Colada is a must.

The best pastrami on rye bread and French bread with pickles/mustard. We’re looking forward to try again.

Absolutely hands down the best pastrami sandwich. The Hat has been making these giant delicious sandwiches since the 50s. You won't find better. They also have many other items on the menu. I recommend getting some wet fries as a side. Bring your appetite when you come.

The Hat - 3/4/2024Time of day - LunchPastrami Burger & Small drinkMenu Price : Burger $11.99 / Drink $2.89 (a la carte)Tax: $1.15Paid: $16.03Dined-In.Great service from the cashierWait time - less than 6 minutesGood presentation. It was double wrapped…The Pastrami Burger was made to order and it was absolutely phenomenal. 1 beef patty with cheese and what seems like a pound of sliced up pastrami on a sesame seed bun. To include lettuce, tomato, pickles and thousand island sauce. I added some mustard and it was amazing. I needed a fork to finish off the deliciousness that fell off onto the wrapper. Fountain drink machine is touch-less, if you need that type of thing but the Coke tasted like Coke.Dining room was a tad busy because of the lunchtime rush but plenty of available seating.Restaurant was clean.Restrooms were clean.Parking lot was clean.Plenty of parking. More on the side of the restaurant than the front. There isn’t a driveway in the front but use either the one behind the building or by the Taco Bell. Will absolutely come back#youruberdriveronbreakParking: Plenty of parking available on the side of the building.

This place is not the Katz's deli of LA, but compared to most other pastrami sandwiches it is very good. Shaved meat with a good balance of mustard and pickles with a great quality roll. Despite what some others say about the fries, I enjoyed them. Thick cut and creamy on the inside and were piping hot. Will definitely visit again soon.
