The Extended Stay America Hotel of Lake Forest, California has been a really nice, safe and very clean and affordable living situation for me. I like how the people who work within the building are non-judgemental and courteous. My stay so far has been beautiful.
Walkability: There's a nice shopping ? center across the street with a Shell gas station and fast food and even a Home Depot!
Noteworthy details: The guests and people working there respect each other.

My family and I always stay at an Extended Stay America whenever the need for a hotel arises. Our recent trip to the Lake Forest location was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and we always got a great parking spot no matter the time of day. I highly recommend this location near Foothill Ranch!

The hotel experienced an unexpected power outage during my entire stay. I couldn’t power my phone or my laptop and I was in town specifically for telework which obviously ran me into trouble with my job because I was forced to call out due to the power being out all day in the hotel. I missed out on earning my work wages for the whole day. I was furious. I couldn’t watch tv or use the telephone. I couldn’t use the alarm clock, coffee maker, fridge, lamps, AC, nor any appliances which need power to work inside my room. I had to walk around my room in the dark for my entire stay there. I was forced to take a shower in the dark with no lights on. I could’ve seriously hurt myself having to use the bathroom and shower without any lights to see what I’m doing or stepping on. I could’ve slipped and fell and been in serious pain. Everybody had to use the emergency stairs to go in and out of the hotel; I had to hear a woman arguing with a hotel staff member right next to my room, outside in the hotel’s hallway, because she was handicapped and could not use the staircases. When I asked the hotel Manager for a refund for my stay, he told me to take it up with Edison, the hotel’s power network provider, because he would not compensate the hotel guests for the HUGE inconvenience of the power going off throughout the entire hotel for the entire day. Unbelievable. I will NEVER stay here again. The terribly inconsiderate customer service I received from the hotel staff and Manager, as well as my entire overall experience staying here at this hotel was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced before while traveling.
Food & drinks: All drinks and snacks inside their vending machines cost $3.50 EACH. Even the Arizona Iced Teas that cost $0.99 everywhere else in the entire country cost $3.50 at their vending machine. The cans have the cost on them; It clearly is advertised and states that the cost of 1 can is $0.99 on each and every single can in the Arizona Iced Tea production line. Make it make sense… Greedy hotel, just like its Manager. Unbelievable.
Noteworthy details: The Manager of this hotel does not provide guests with reasonable resolutions for any complaints regarding inadequate and inhospitable hotel room amenities. Even when the ENTIRE hotel’s power goes completely out for the ENTIRE DAY without any prior notice given to the hotel guests who’re checked in staying there, this hotel Manager will still refuse to provide you with any kind of customer service whatsoever. A literal joke.

Extended Stay America Suites in Lake Forest is a fine place to stay. My family and I enjoyed being near some of our favorite restaurants and sports park that is practically across the street. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful with any requests. Each room has a full kitchen with a full size refrigerator. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.
Rooms: Clean, well appointed rooms with comfy beds.

No security system outside at all. If you value your things I wouldn’t recommend. Had $3000 worth of tools stolen out of a locked service box. The rooms are dark, dingy, outdated, and the hallways stuck

Our original assigned room had broken AC and we were told we were"lucky" to get another room which had sticky floors and filthy carpet...luckily we brought our swiffer and carpet cleaner as well as our own sheets because the hotel bedding didn't fit the bed. There is grime all over the lobby doors and elevators. Residents don't pick up after their dogs. Dog charges were not disclosed when we booked so what was the point of using Expedia...room costs the same with dogs as if we booked at the desk. Several of the sesk staff are rude. We witnessed a guy come in with a printed reservation and he was told " we don't have a reservation for you so go to Irvine", gang grafitti in elevator and property, laundry machines eat your money, breakfast is a joke...residents scoop everything up within minutes and some of the desk staff won't make more coffee once initial pot is empty. Looks like most of the residents are economically challenged...I'm sure you must have a deal with DHS to house them for much less than the rest of us. In general, the property is rundown and looks much older than it is. As a longtime resident of Lake Forest I remember when it was built not so very long ago...so glad sheriff's substation around the corner.. had a dead body removed the other night from a party room 2 doors down from us. What a dump! Never again will I stay at an extended stay.
Rooms: Filthy floor and carpet
Safety: Sketchy clientele
Walkability: Not safe

When I arrived at 4pm, I was told that my room was not ready. The staff had to look at two separate rooms to find one that was occupant ready. It wasn't dirty but it wasn't clean either. Quite a bit of dust. The bathroom tub was leaking the entire time of my stay and I was told that it's not the only one that has leaking issues. The shower was broken so I couldn't take a shower. Staff the next morning promptly fixed it though so there was a plus side. The complimentary breakfast is a complete joke. It consisted of tepid water (I didn't have the coffee) and some pre-wrapped muffins. There was a sign for oatmeal but no oatmeal. Second morning I was there, there was NO coffee and the water was just as tepid. When I went to get a second cup, the front staff took the container, disappeared for a few minutes and then came back to the counter without even looking at me or saying anything. I was without a vehicle and there are a few restaurants within a 15 minute walk of the hotel. Google did not inform me of most of them. Also, second night I was here, just about to go to sleep and someone did a tap and run on my window outside.
Food & drinks: There are a lot more options than what Google shows.
