As a hobo I love this place. It's less than $50 a month to shower. If you are homeless (voluntarily or otherwise) you can park and sleep in your car at Hoag Hospital for about $10 a day. You won't have to worry about criminals or security as people will assume you're there for a relative so they won't bother you. Helps if you have a newer car.
Doing the math, that's about $350 to sleep and shower. If you want to idle your engine all night add another $300. Still cheaper than anything habitable around the area.
This was my strategy on a recent vacation, but might also help you out if you want to save money and work locally here.
I use anytime to save money on hotels when I travel all over. Far better than Planet Fitness since you get your own private bathroom to shower in. Just don't hog it during peak hours.

Never answer the phone, cancelled the policy but is still charging me. Try to call to cancel but never answer. After reading reviews I see it’s happened to other people as well it’s insane.

Much cleaner and less crowded than 24hr fitness. Haven’t run into any homeless inside the gym yet. Mostly no waiting for equipment. Most people re-rack their weights.
Just wish the equipment cleaning stations were better stocked. It often seems low or out.

This gym preys upon people and you will not be able to cancel your membership without a fight. They do not have workers on site ever so it is impossible to cancel. Do not sign up under any circumstances.

Our experience with this gym has been a nightmare and their billing practices are ILLEGAL. The Area Manager, Peter Han, is aware and allows it. Do not give your credit card information to these criminals!
In October 2022, my husband emailed his cancellation notice to the gym. They never processed it. Nearly two years later, he discovered they had continued to charge him. When he forwarded the original cancellation notice and demanded a refund, the nightmare began.
The gym's representative claimed they could cancel the membership but couldn’t issue a refund, instructing him to contact their billing company. When he contacted the billing company, they had no idea what he was talking about and directed him back to the gym, saying they needed to approve the refund, despite their representative admitting the mistake in writing.
After countless follow-up emails, he received delayed and evasive responses. Eventually, they claimed they were seeking approval from the "area manager." The rep, Peter Han, then informed us that they couldn't process the refund because it was my responsibility to confirm they had processed the cancellation – an absolutely shocking, unethical, and illegal response.
Despite clearly violating California consumer laws and their own contract, which only requires written notice for cancellation, Peter Han tried every tactic to delay and deny our rightful refund. Specifically, they are violating the California Health Studio Services Act (California Civil Code Section 1812.80-1812.98), which mandates that written cancellations be honored and processed promptly, and refunds issued for any services not rendered.
This gym blatantly disregards consumer rights and engages in unethical billing practices. We are now taking legal action to recover the money owed to us and filing complaints with the state of CA for their illegal cancellation policy, as well as with the BBB.
Please heed this warning: Do not do any business with Anytime Fitness in Laguna Hills, CA. The market is full of other options – choose a gym that respects its customers and adheres to ethical practices. Stay far away from this place to avoid the nightmare we have endured.

Unfortunately this is my home club anytime. Love anytime fitness as a whole but this one has progressively gotten worse over the last two years. Homeless people sometimes get in late at night and find a place to sleep. Gym has no worker during the day. And the worker they did have was about 15 years old and wouldn’t do anything. I’ve been calling the place for the last week trying to freeze my membership because I’m having surgery. Even went in today at 2:30pm and no on was there.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!! I submitted a request to cancel my membership as I was moving out of the area. I was unable to talk to anyone on the phone but was reached out to via text letting me know that my cancellation request was submitted, but I still needed to pay the next month's billing cycle. After paying the last month I owed, I've received countless calls from their billing company telling me they have been unable to process payments for my membership. NOW..I'm receiving calls from a debt collector telling me that I owe 4 months of payments. This is outrageous and I will be providing evidence to the debt collection company of the texts from Anytime Fitness telling me my cancellation was submitted, along with the charges on my card through the last month that was owed. UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE UNABLE TO CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND BE HARASSED BY A DEBT COLLECTOR AFTER CANCELLING...DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT JOINING THIS GYM

This gym is a two minute drive and affordable with decent equipment but ever single time I have to use the bathroom I cringe at how filthy it is. Been coming here for about 6 months and I just joined a new gym thats triple the price and almost 10miles away from me. Cleanliness goes a long way…

I have reached out to customer service several times about homeless people coming into the gym at night. Nothing is being done. For the membership fee they are charging. You would think they would do something about it by now.

Dark, dingy, mirrorless, poorly-lit, dirty, homeless-ridden club. The staff are never present and they don’t answer phone calls. BEWARE they lock you in a one year membership, then even after a year when you finally get to cancel membership, they continue to charge your bank account. STAY AWAY. Save yourself!!

I have been a member of Anytime fitness for over two years and this facility is by far and away the most disgusting facility in all of the Anytime fitnesses that I've been to. I have called to express my concerns with the owners and the situation has never gotten better. Absolutely disgusting. Don't give them your money. Sign up somewhere else.

COOL GYM IF YOU LIKE SHARING IT WITH HOMLESS PEOPLE.Been coming to this gym for almost a year. I’ve liked it thus far, but I’ve noticed an influx in homeless people in the gym. Yes, IN the gym. I’ve seen them sleeping in the dance room and near the lockers. This is a gym, not a hotel, and people pay money to attend this gym. I’ve never seen this at other places. Management needs to get this handled ASAP.
