DON'T DO IT. I interviewed many CPA's before choosing Capata. I brought two well-established S-corps and our personal accounting & taxes to Gary the owner and his team. I met with Gary and Sal and we came up with the fees and started the work. Did I get canceled on or have to wait in the conference room for 15 minutes at times, sure, but that's not why I'm writing this. Once the books were "scrubbed" from the other accountant, the taxes were done. After I received notice that everything was done, I received an email from Gary asking for more money, which took me by surprise since we already worked out pricing. Once I told him I wasn't agreeable to pay more (he should've just told me ahead of time things took longer than expected, although there were never any delays). From that point on it was nothing but unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful attitudes from Gary, Sal & Ana. I tried getting my QuickBooks backup file to avoid paying $800 to have the new firm bring them to date...but Capata is telling me they don't have them. I don't have my own QB software, so were the books even worked on? A chargeback for the amount they charged me for bookkeeping will be next. I speak with a lot of business owners about their frustrations with CPA firms. Do yourself a favor and move on from this nightmare company. **UPDATE** As soon as the reviews went live, we received calls from Managing Partners, Supervisors, and people I never even met at CAPATA. Within 24 hours we had access to our QuickBooks backup files, which is all we wanted in the first place. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE BEEN SLAMMED WITH NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM CAPATA, BEEN HARRASSED DAILY TO REMOVE OUR NEGATIVE REVIEWS, ETC., If they would've spent a fraction of this time getting my QuickBooks files, we wouldn't be having these issues. Sad.

All in all a great firm. I had a few bumps in the road working with these guys but they always made it right. They even have political connections so if you have a complaint about a particular tax law you can tell them and they'll see if they can lobby to get it changed for you. How many firms can say that?

The guys at Capata made it so easy for me to get my tax accounts finished and filed. It was my first time filing in the US, Capata advised and guided me through the process, giving me comfort that I had fulfilled my obligations properly and efficiently.

Have worked with Gary Capata and his team for several years. I don't have extensive comparisons to other CPA firms, but they are always responsive to emails and phone calls. There isn't a sense that they are bothered with questions and requests.
