Kathy working in the shoe department absolutely kills it! It was very busy and she had a lot of people that she was helping simultaneously like an absolute rockstar! Janice at the register was also a delight! Appreciate you! Great customer service and great experience thank you so much!

WASTE OF TIME ! We headed in here on Saturday because my wife needed a new pair of thermal cycling tights with padding. OH NO ! They didn't have a thing in stock.....in the middle of winter. AVOID THIS JOINT LIKE THE PLAGUE ! NOTE - Of course with 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2023 I can tell you what is great !

Clean and well organized, spacious store. Disappointed in selection of bikes... Seems Tustin has a larger selection... new store, and probably in the process of stocking inventory? Had lots of fun camping gear. Can always count on REI quality not to break during camping outings, unlike other inferior brands from other stores. Picked up a few new travel packs, can't wait to use them.

Clean and organized. They had a very small shoe selection and didn't have the size we needed. It's still getting constructed so there is drilling noise, and the like. The prices seem high.

REI is a most welcome addition to the neighborhood. This is possibly the sorest need in retailing for the Laguna Hills area since they finally tore down the world's loneliest mall last year to make way for -- you guessed it -- more apartment developments. With the demolition of the Laguna Hills Mall, there was no sports store in the immediate area and clearly REI planned from the jump to remedy that. Do not let the somewhat petite facade fool you, this place is massive and holds all of the outdoor gear you could possibly want and more. This will immediately become my home snowboard shop for all maintenance and repair as well as my go-to for gear and outdoor apparel. If you aren't familiar with REI's return policy and customer service, it is unmatched in the space and rivals the likes of In-N-Out, Crutchfield, and Costco. Yes, that good. I also love that REI is a co-op -- that alone earns my dollar -- and the employees go above and beyond expectations in order to get you outfitted for the next mythical adventure. They are also supremely knowledgeable: Newbs are totally welcome. The only quibble I can muster is that the prices are not always the lowest and they do not price match but they are competitive and you can always utilize coupons, annual rewards, and other promotional events throughout the year to save some coin.

Overall, the store is large and beautiful, but I felt like the selection was limited compared to the one at the Tustin Marketplace. I would probably continue to go to that one in the future.

South county's best kept secret. What a treat to finally have an REI within a 5 minute drive from home. Adding this now to my list of post work strolls especially since it shares the same center as Trader Joes. Had the pleasure of joining the opening weekend festivities and it was a lot of fun. Tons of swag freebies from many vendors. Great selection of gear - camping, biking, hiking, climbing... you name it. Love the open space lay out. Not as much shoe selection & variety yet as the Tustin store but it is enough. Haven't seen the winter sports section just yet, but hoping they'll have it for this season. Lifetime membership for $30 ($20 many many years ago when I got it). Gives you 20% off full price items a few times a year. Makes for easy returns if products don't work out within the year of purchase. I love that they have exclusive REI Laguna Hills merch (really nice stickers & a tote bag) for purchase, of course. Welcome to the neighborhood REI. Happy to have you here.

Great store with an exceptionally friendly staff. It's a lot bigger inside than I was expected it to be. It had everything that I thought I'd see, from camping gear, to hiking gear, and everything in between. If it involves the outdoors, chances are really good that they will have it at REI. We grabbed a few items for our first purchase, and Jake, the cashier, politely asked us if we were members. With zero pressure, he explained what membership entailed. We decided to sign up then and there. With it, you get extended return windows, discounts on purchases, and other deals. I will come back to the store, and update my review accordingly, but for now it'll be at five stars.

Went here on the Saturday Grand Opening (9/16/23) and was expecting a pretty small store based on the center. They had a pretty big section in the parking lot with vendors giving out swag along with the free Co-Op gear from REI (we didn't wait in line, but I would have loved that Co-Op hat ?. Walking in the store, it's massive! Much larger than Tustin. The Bike section was a bit sparse, but likely due to the upcoming winter sports swap. I didn't see any paddle sports which was a bummer...but WHY such a massive section dedicated to climbing shoes? Clothing sections were great and this REI had one of the best camping equipment areas I've seen. Spotted some Xmas gifts for the family. Hopefully they won't pack this place with too much merch...it's nice how open it is. Also, hopefully they can sustain this building...center is kinda dead, especially with the ever-long "5 Lagunas" mall that has been a construction site for 10 years now. I still remember the El Paseo REI in Mission Viejo that was there just a few years and vanished. I have high hopes for this one
