A nice selection of building materials and very helpful staff. Location is central and easy to access with your truck on Laguna Canyon Rd.I have used this place as a source of materials for several projects and each time has been a pleasant expetience .What I found very helpful also, was if they did not have exactly what I wanted, they referred me to a place that did.Very professional!

Went to Larry's looking for some rock slabs to use for a photography project, and they had just what I needed. Kudos to Danny for the great help - we were in and out in under 15 minutes with some great set props in hand!

Laguna Beach, Ca. Average experience here, but way better than the place in Huntington Beach on Golden West. Every one here is nice and doesn't present attitudes like you find at most building and landscape supply places. It was easy to get in and get loaded up. Leaving is more difficult, making a left onto Laguna Canyon Rd. I was patient, and eventually there was a break in the traffic. I first came on a Friday to see what their granite boulders looked like. They had a pallet cage full of them at a size I could manage. The guy says they are .18 a pound. I ask if he thinks there is a thousand pounds there and he says probably. My mistake here was not getting them weighed right then. I returned on Saturday with a borrowed truck to purchase the whole pallet cage. It weighed in at 2070 lbs. so instead of spending $180 I was into it far more, closer to $400. Since I had borrowed the truck and I was there I went for it but thought about what an expensive lesson in geological forms this was. Bottom line is that .18/lb for these boulders is not cheap and maybe you will want to shop prices. The pallet, which was a non deposit pallet weighed about 45 lbs. I realized later that they also charged me .18/lb for the pallet, about $8. Non a real lot of money but still I was a bit miffed, I also noticed there was not a state seal on the scale, so how accurate it is is questionable.

Had a recent delivery of landscape rock. Rock was very dirty with rock fines. Took sample to Larry's and Mike without hesitation discounted the price. Problem was traced back to Larry's rock vendor. Great customer service!!!!! This was our second purchase from Larry's and we will definitely purchase additional landscape materials.

One very unhappy customer here! I found the return policy to be absolutely the worst policy. I was dealing with both the Costa Mesa store and the Laguna store. I originally visited the Costa Mesa store but was told that they did not stock the item I wanted but that the Laguna store had them in stock and so I ordered direct from the Laguna store. The ordering was easy and the staff were helpful. When I needed to return the stones however it was very pricey and not a good experience. I paid $105 to have the stones delivered and $105 to have them returned. I was okay with this as it was my fault for not researching the items ordered more thoroughly . I was told by the staff that if the pallets were in order that I would not have to pay a restocking fee. He said he would call me back to confirm. I did not receive a call but I was dinged a further $200 (applicable to a 25% restocking fee). When I called to speak to the staff about the restocking fee they said that is just their policy . When I originally dealt with Costa Mesa they did not mention a restocking fee so I called them back and asked them again what their policy was for returning items and was told that it is not problem and that there is no restocking fee. I explained that I purchased the items through their Laguna location and was being charged a restocking fee by Laguna - they said that Laguna is a different store and that they had different policies. I spoke to the owner of the company (Joe), explaining the different policies I was given and he said that he would check with the CM location. The staff at the CM location backtracked on their previous conversation with me and basically the owner is not believing my sequence of events and the conversations I have had with his staff. Obviously the staff is not being honest with the owner for fear of penalty - so basically the owner is calling me a liar. I paid $851 for the stones and was charged a total of $410 for delivery/return/restocking fee. Never again will I give my business to Larry's Building Supply.
