Rooms: Our room had an ocean view with private porch area and chairs. The space was furnished with beach-modern furniture, was exceptionally clean, freshly remodeled, and had books to read — no tV! Relaxing and unplugging was perfect!
Walkability: Close to restaurants, shops, bars, and on the ocean! No car needed!
Noteworthy details: Fantastic view, great designed rooms, easy beach access!

My favorite place in Southern California! Love love love this location, the view, the beach access and walkable to everything in Laguna. Been coming since 2017 and seen this place improve so much! Piece of Paradise on Earth!

We enjoyed our stay this past weekend! Amazing location, can’t beat it. The hotel is being renovated and we stayed in one of the newly remodeled ocean view ones. It had a fresh light beachy feel, very pretty. It didn’t have a tv so we could listen only to the sound of the waves (loved that :)! Newer bathrooms were nice and essential oils were a nice touch. We had beach chairs right outside in our own patio to enjoy a nice book. The beds are on the firmer side.
Gabriel and all the front office staff were so accommodating and friendly! We loved how quaint the hotel is, a magical feeling of a beach home for the weekend. We enjoyed the amenities, pool/spa, fire pit, beach chairs, free yummy coffee. We will recommend to others. Thank you so much and we’ll be back!
Walkability: The location is close to downtown with coffee shops and restaurants only steps or a block away!

Hi My family has been staying at Laguna Riviera since 1979. We absolutely love everything about it. (We are the DERISO family)
We can’t wait to see you the week of the 16th in April. My mom and I always stay in 302 and my brother and his wife always like 508. We are so excited to see the remodeled rooms. I spoke to John the other night when I made our reservation. He was telling me all the remodel and the changes. John was the best in helping me with all of my questions. He was efficient, very friendly and professional. He was also very funny. ? Not sure if we have met him before but are very much looking forward to meeting John.
We gave dealt with Juanita many times and she also is terrific. We are looking forward to our 4 days in paradise in a few weeks! See you soon.
Update.
We returned yesterday from our 4 day stay.
As always it went way too fast.
We stayed in a brand new remodeled room. (303). It is so beautiful. Yes the hotel is under construction and was a bit noisy at times but with that being said we were told that when making the reservation. The entire staff was so apologetic and accommodating regarding construction.
Speaking about the staff. Oh my goodness we felt like we were important people. ANYTHING we asked for was done immediately and staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful. Thank you so much to everyone! I know I will forget some but special shout out to Danielle,Makayla,Kyle,Juanita,The 2 Valet guys. I can’t remember there names and another frontdesk guy I can’t remember his name. Housekeeping, Construction crew we thank you so so much! Our stay was great. We can’t wait to return when all of the construction is done and see the finished Hotel. Thank you again everyone!
The DeRiso family!
Rooms: Our room was the newest remodeled one so far and wow was it nice! The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on!
The purifiers, diffuser, relaxing machine yoga mat and pillow were awesome. If I had to say anything I would say that the a/c heat unit remote and lighting remote should have instructions for us older people. ???That was challenging at 3 am but total operator error and funny. Of course our deck is stunning as always. Loved the room.
I think the grounds around all the rooms need to be lit up more at night. It is quite dark.
Thanks again to all! ?

Amazing location, we stayed in the king room with balcony + patio. Close to a lot of great food places, Ralph’s was down the street, friendly staff! Remodeling was not loud at all, one thing was we got charged for amenities the day we left even though we never used them. I think this should only be charged if it’s used, hopefully this is something that can be adjusted in the future. We will be back!

I had a fantastic experience at Lagune Riviera in 2019, and in 2024 on my first trip back since Covid-19, I was looking forward to returning as part of a 4 week/9 hotel vacation from Australia. Laguna Riviera sitting on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean is still unequalled for position and outlook – just stunning.
The rooms were still very cosy and comfortable, but there were a few changes I wasn’t really prepared for.
During our stay, I expressed my concerns at reception with some of those changes. The Assistant General Manager was delightful and could not have tried any harder to address those concerns as soon as they were raised. In further feedback and correspondence since, she again went above and beyond.
Sections of the hotel were undergoing remodelling during our stay, but the workers went to great lengths to not inconvenience guests or diminish their experience.
With the remodelled rooms and the same great location, I look forward to returning to Laguna Riviera on my next vacation to the U.S.

Best place to stay in Laguna. Truly. It’s perfectly located, walkable to downtown Laguna and South Laguna. Tons of great restaurants around. Ocean views are stunning. Friendly staff, great service.

Beautiful ocean view but bathrooms are a bit dated.

Outdated rooms. Our tv's didn't work. We had a lovely view of the ocean if we could get out easier as the door was stuck. No iron. Just an ironing board and the phone to call the front desk was basically decorative because that didn't work either. Friendly staff. Full kitchen. The walls are bare and could use some paintings in the front room. Nice hot tub area. Never even found an ice machine or a place to grab snacks. If you stay here, go to the store and stock your pantry and fridge. No food provided here. Nice young staff. But it all seemed like one trouble after another. :(

We had a perfect last minute getaway here. The staff was super friendly and helpful with minor things that came up, as well as recommendations for around town. Sunset is absolutely stunning from just about anywhere on the property! We also really enjoyed spending our evening in the enclosed heated pool and Jacuzzi; floating around watching the hanging plants sway above you with palms swaying along in the background was a definite vibe. I loved how plush and green everything is here. The property itself is quite unique, the angled balcony rails had my hubby singing the LoveBoat theme song every time we walked back up from the beach. I think it's adorable. They are currently undergoing a renovation but the room we were in has clearly not yet been redone. The minor maintenance issues we had I'm sure will be addressed as they update each room, but it was clean and comfortable which is all I really need. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was good and we did not experience any construction noise the night/morning we were there.Almost everything you need is within walking distance: coffee shop and grocery is one block, yummy Mexican food is 2 blocks, multiple bars and restaurants within 4 blocks. The Laguna Beach trolley runs all along highway 1 from downtown all the way to Salt Creek with a stop directly in front of the property, so you have easy access to any beach or cove you'd like to explore. Take advantage of the parking you're already paying for here.We are looking forward to our next stay here and would recommend it to friends.Walkability: Hop on the trolley to get around town anywhere further than you'd like to walk. Everything you need for a quiet stay is within a couple blocks.
