Rod has a sweet shop with snowboard gear as well. I go every trip to talk to him, rent surfboards, wetsuits and also get more hats and shirts!! Great guy!

CA Surf and Paddle has a great location and good vibe from the street. Had a horrible customer experience this week which was all about the owner Rod. Reading Yelp and Google reviews it’s clear he has a raging problem dealing with guests. None of his employees are mentioned. It’s always him. Never takes responsibility. It’s a misunderstanding and or he somehow portrays himself as the victim when inflicting poor customer service.I should have read the reviews before I went. Avoid this place. He is really bad news.

Jay and Rod were top notch! Stopped in for a lesson, Jay got me up on a wave in no time and had an absolute blast out there! Rod was super friendly and helpful as well. I’m highly recommend these guys if you are in Laguna looking for surf lessons!

Living in Colorado and looking for a deal on a wetsuit, searched the web and before buying thought I would check with my old neighborhood surf shop from my days in Laguna. What a great deal CA Surf had, should have just went there first. Great Price, Great Delivery! Thanks Rod!

Just being tourists and walking down laguna when my friends feet started to hurt so we stopped in to buy her some sandals. We had my 2 year old with us and he’s a curious kid, so naturally the shop owner told me to “be a good mom and get my son away from his boards” he didn’t even touch them. And how does that determine me from being a good and bad mom.

Took a beginner surf lesson with my sister and mother on 9/21/2022. Had a wonderful experience! Our instructor, Jay, was so easygoing and funny. Because of this, we were put at ease and felt excited for this new experience. Jay was also incredibly patient. He continued to kindly remind/show us of things to improve our form while surfing. Every bit of advice he gave helped us improve and actually catch and ride waves. I was blown away at how much he taught us in just one lesson. In addition, he took us where we were at and really analyzed exactly what we needed to improve/adjust, then expertly communicated it. His feedback was very helpful and he helped all of us ride waves- something I thought not possible in one lesson. We felt that Jay went above and beyond and we’re so grateful that we had him as an instructor. Totally recommend this place for surf lessons! And be sure to request instructor Jay!

A true local surf and board sports shop! Rootsy! Where else these days can you roll into a shop and see the owner shaping a new surfboard in the back? The shop is always stocked, and the crew is always helpful, courteous, and knowledgeable. Core surf shops are a dying breed in today’s day and age with mall shops and online mega stores. “Local knowledge” is gold. Shop local and support this local owned landmark!

I bought 3 pairs of coast Az trunks so happy where them everywhere and everyday, at the gym or the beach, lots of people ask where I them at of course I say CA paddle and surf on 695 South coast highway thank you Rod G thank you
