“My daughter attended Joyful Beginnings for 2 years before starting kindergarten. We always had a very positive experience there, but I'm kind of glad I never reviewed the preschool because now I have an even better perspective now that my daughter is in grade school. I feel like the teachers did an amazing job preparing her for kindergarten and fostering both her social and academic skills. I'm thrilled to write that my daughter is loving school and excited to go everyday. Thanks to everyone at Joyful Beginnings, especially the incredible teachers Erica, Tracy, and Taryn! The school runs very efficiently under the direction of Carol, and I always found it to be an incredibly safe and clean environment. I liked that the days/schedule was a bit flexible and that helped our family be able to select the schedule that would fit our finances. Thanks to all!”

“Our kid was here for 2 years and it was great. The teachers were qualified, attentive, and nice. I also like that the school had pretty good diversity among the staff and student body. The management team was responsive and accommodating. Our son had a great time, made good friends, and learned a lot. Thank you for everything!”

“Having the opportunity to be a Gan Ilan Preschool family was a huge gift to us as a two working parent family. The schedule with aftercare options, flexible billing, large playground with teaching garden, and safe hilltop location were big selling points. Our kids loved their teachers, looked forward to coming to Gan Ilan every day and we all made life-long friends. The staff and clergy really listen and partner with parents to provide the best possible care and enrichment. The love of Judaism, holidays (and challah!) inspired my kids to want to continue their Jewish education after preschool, which is exciting for all of us. We attended other preschools as well, and Gan Ilan was our favorite!”

“Highly recommend Lafayette Nursery School if you are in the area and looking for a co-op preschool. The teachers are great with the kids and there are always so many things for the kids to do during a normal school year (this year has been distance learning due to COVID, so a bit different since it's been take home activities instead of in-person). Parent education is also a great offering and very helpful. It's a wonderful preschool.”

“My son started this year as a Freshman (9th grade). We had read all the reviews before applying and like other people here have mentioned, we had some concerns about the administration but consistently heard the teachers and eduction was excellent. 6 months in and our son is very happy. He's got great teachers, his advisor knows and understand him. He's on the golf team and involved in many after school activities. There's also a good community of parents. I've gotten to know the new Head of School, Christie Moncharmont. She's laser focused on improving communication with parents and working with the teachers and staff to ensure that Bentley is a great place to teach. One thing that really stood out to us when my son was applying to Bentley - it was the only independent school in the East Bay that specifically said that they were focused on a having "happy" students with a reasonable balance of school work, extracurriculars, and downtime.. We are so glad we made the decision for Bentley.”
