The maintenance staff is wonderful, and generally the place is good to live in. The biggest problem with this place is Essex (the management company). They told us they were putting in car chargers that year but never did. They frequently changed their parking policy to have tags for a second car and told us we needed to pick one up...while we were out of town for a few weeks...unless we wanted to be towed. Apparently the person who did that was fired, but we still spent a lot of time trying to get someone else in the office to fix our problems. When we left they charged us an extra $300 fee for furniture marks on the carpet, which contradicted the move out assessment they did a few weeks prior. Essex has a class action lawsuit against them for doing stuff like this so maybe that will be fixed going forward. You have to sign in to Essex's website and request them not to sell your personal information. They installed a useless gate in the name of security (useless because everyone just waits for someone who lives there to come in and out and you can walk around it), making (food) deliveries a pain. Lots of other small stuff like spam emails, etc. so you will have to spend some time each month dealing with Essex for whatever reason, just a time waste overall.

We have lived at here for nearly 4 years and have seen this complex through numerous staffing changes. The one constant (and truly spectacular) staff member through it all has been Cesar. He is consistently so responsive, thorough, and professional. It's only once you've experienced less than satisfactory rental maintenance that you really, truly appreciate how lovely it is to never have to sweat something going wrong. The grounds are maintained well and for the most part the community is safe and clean- we are happy with the complex overall.

Our maintenance staff Cesar is fantastic. He is extremely professional, highly responsive and can fix pretty much anything! I am very pleased with the level of maintenance this complex offers.

Quick, capable response/repair time for the maintenance staff (Cesar) is one of the best things about living here. We've had several basic maintenance issues as well as a couple of repairs insurance covered, and he's always managed them very well. Couldn't ask for better service!

This review is for Cesar. After over a year renting here, Cesar continues to be amazingly good at keeping this place running. With every one of my maintenance calls, he's been prompt, kind, professional, informative, understanding, and skilled at whatever job he's handling. He just replaced my glass cooktop after just a few days of my service request. The administrative staff coordinating it all were equally great!

I've been living here for 3 years this April. Ever since Cesar came onboard the maintenance team, every issue we have had has been resolved in a fast, and timely manner. He is polite, generous, and an extremely hard worker. He always makes time to help me resolve issues in the apartment, and even suggests some new ways to brighten up the place. 10/10 great guy, and great work! It's nice to know there's someone I can rely on.

We have needed a lot of maintenance work done the past few months and I just wanted to leave a glowing review for Cesar Sandoval! He is so quick to respond to our requests and does an amazing job EVERY TIME. He is so knowledgeable about every aspect of the apartment and really can fix anything. He goes out of his way to make sure the job is done right and does so with a great attitude. This is by far the best maintenance service I've had through apartment living. Thank you Cesar!

The maintenance crew is top notch! Responsive, skilled and extremely customer-oriented. It's always a pleasure to run into them on the grounds or during a work order in my apartment. Even now, Cesar has been managing services for over a month on his own (due to vacancy) with no apparent drop in services. One of the benefits of living here.

Cesar is always very quick to respond to maintentance requests and very good at keeping us updated on any upcoming construction work or tree cutting happening on site. Lafayette Highlands is a good place to live and the common areas are well maintained. We enjoy living here.

I requested multiple items to be repaired via rental cafe portal in the evening of Thursday, and by noon of the following day, Friday, all the requested items on my list were repaired and completed by Ceasar, the maintenance technician. I very much appreciated his quick response, knowledge of the building repair, and his courteous manner. In addition, it was impressive that all the replacement supplies, parts, and materials were at the site which contributed his work to be completed in such a swift and timely manner. Again, I want to express my appreciation to Ceasar, and also appreciate the management to have him as a maintenance staff.
