Long time resident of the Tri-Valley, decided to try La Chataigne because of the great reviews. We there not more than 10 minutes from start to finish when we found a ticket sitting on my windshield on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately this has left us with a bad taste in our mouth, and not because of the great pastries at La Chataigne. Unfortunately, we will not be back to visit because of this experience.

Last week we were looking for a place for lunch. We settled on Tu tus we parked the car at the meters it's a $1.50 for an hour. It was 230 so there were tables available outside or inside . We showed our shot card to sit inside where we were distance from other people. We looked at the menu noticing the great prices and the food looked and then tasted delicious. This place is cozily decorated with wood tables, art work, fire place and you can see the market and where they serve the drinks.This place is very clean including the bathrooms there is lots of service people here and they're friendly polite and it doesn't matter who you talk to they will get help for you.From the menu the food is outstanding and great prices, cooked to order. The very friendly staff checks to see if you need anything and how your meal is, plus if you are not sure, they give great recommendations. I like how you can get breakfast until 4pm.We are going to make this place a regular meeting spot. There are many places back here to choose from. Great places to get breakfast, lunch and dinner in downtown Lafayette.

Some nice stores and restaurants. The parking people they employ are the absolute worst, though. Would drive to Walnut Creek just to avoid parking here.
