Unfortunately I have a suspicion as to why they closed so unexpectantly. First time I took my 5 year old dog there they supposedly found full glands ( he never had that issue ever before and never showed any signs or smell ), and also supposedly found fleas ( never had flea issue before, I never had a bite, he was on preventative meds, he had no fleas ). They insisted I pay for both issues to be resolved. Due to suspecting I was scammed I never took him back, his new vet found no such issues at all, as I suspected. I fear this place got called out for scamming customers like myself so they had to close quickly to avoid consequences. I'm guessing only based on my personal experience.

Dr. Levoy and Baldy View Animal Hospital~ My family has taken our dogs to your office for the past 15 years. My dog has an outstanding prescription with you even now. Your office has closed with no warning. Please advise your clients on retrieving their pet's records. Please do so immediately. ESPECIALLY to those of us who have a pet with ongoing medical needs.

I cannot believe this place shut down. They were helpful in my pets time of need. But the low rating is for the fact that I paid for cremation services for my fur baby and they shut their doors. 3 weeks have gone by and I haven't received my baby or any information. The pain I feel for not having my babies remains will forever hurt.

Abruptly closed with no notification. Services were prepaid for and then not provided because they closed with no notice. Literally, 3 days after we paid. Contacting a Lawyer.

I'm unfortunately dropping what could have been a 5 star review to 2 stars. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Levoy. But the way in which this business closed in both unprofessional & odd. NO notifications to clients. How the hell are we to get our pet's medical records? You failed to respond to email requests for pet records, your answering machine does not provide any closing info nor take messages. NO signage on your window re: your closing either. You've tainted what could have been a gracious business closing!!

It's hard to find a vet who will treat Ball Pythons within a decent time frame. Dr. LaVoy treated our snake within a few days. I felt welcomed and he answered all my questions. He definitely put my mind at ease when it comes to our snake. We love her very much and hate to see her sick. All his assistants were lovely to talk to and our entire experience was perfect. Thank you to Dr. LaVoy and the entire staff at Baldy View Animal Hospital. We are very grateful for all of you.

Appreciate the response from the business, really hope they can improve. My intention was not to bad mouth them or ruin their reputation, simply to provide a transparent opportunity for improvement. Also Wanted to update as promised. Took our boy to an eye specialist about a week later. They confirmed he did indeed have retinal degeneration but when we asked about the other diagnosis that Dr Bobek mentioned, they confirmed that they did NOT believe he had this. They said he had cataracts in addition to the degeneration and also identified a superficial ulcer that needed antibiotics for preventative treatment.

I never leave reviews, but I find it very important to leave one here to help prevent others from experiencing what I did at this vet. I brought my healthy 5 year old cat in for routine vaccines (FVRCPC, Rabies, + Felv) and to check his teeth as I noticed some plaque/tartar build up. They administer his vaccines and recommend/sell me “Plaque-Off” to be added to his food everyday and clean his teeth. I asked about any negative side effects from the Plaque off and was told by a vet assistant that there’s no side effects and it’s completely fine for my cat. About two weeks later, my cat starts exhibiting side effects from the vaccines that are commonly seen in kittens & uncommonly in adult cats (lethargy, loss of appetite and limping). I became concerned as it’s lasted roughly 4-5 days at that point, so I take my cat back in to be checked. The veterinary assistants there relay the message from the vet (he doesn’t speak to patients directly because of his age, 80s) that it was “impossible” to be a delayed reaction to vaccination, informs me that my cat has an extremely elevated heart rate & needs a $200 X-ray to check his heart. I refuse the test and ask to speak to the vet directly and they eventually agree. I’m very adamant that it was a delayed vaccine reaction but he brushes it off and says “I see you’ve been referring to Dr. Google. I have 50 years experience and graduated from the university of Davis. I’ve been to NY vet conferences, I know what I’m doing”. It was extremely demeaning and he spoke to us like children. I take my cat back home and within a couple of days he snaps right out of it, appetite back to normal, limping gone, lethargy gone, simply a vaccine reaction. In addition, On the bottle of “plaque-off” that was given to me, it states “not recommended for animals undergoing treatment for hyperthyroidism”. This product is associated with causing hyperthyroidism (elevated heart rate) in dogs and cats due to the high levels of Iodine. Needless to say, I’m never coming back to this vet again & wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Keep your pets safe and find a competent vet.
