Stranded on the 605 I found this place AAA rated with good reviews. initial quote was high but decided the quality would be worth the cost. 10k dollars later My Rover still not quite right. Acceleration jerks. asked for adjustment but was refused. What does 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS get you? It pays for this review and a s***** engine for sure. Test Test and Test BEFORE payment! Don't trust in the honor and duty of workman ship of any mechanic. Check back for invoice photos.Service: Engine repair

They saved me from $$$$ in repairs. I had them inspect a used vehicle I was going to purchase. I don't know much about cars so I thought it would be a good idea to get a full inspection to make sure I'm investing my money in something that will last me a while. They were very thorough with their report, turns out the car had a ton of problems with it that would've required thousands in repairs. I'm so grateful that I went to L&T to go it inspected first. They were also very quick and it took less than an hour! Thank you so much guys, I will be coming back as the search for a car continues!

I’ve been coming here for the last 14yrs! They took care of my 2000 Acura Integra. Then I have a 2011 Honda Civic SI. On this last visit they took care of my 2020 Jeep Wrangler. What I like best about this place is I always feel like they’re being completely honest with me. Their work is always stellar. Car comes out feeling amazing! I just feel like the honesty they give is what’s best. I’ve referred family and they’ve also been pleased with the services rendered. I will never go to another mechanic. If I do I will ask Amy and Albert for a reference they’ve been good to me & all my cars.Services: Transmission

Great automotive work and service for a great price. They have done excellent work on my cars. As a woman, I feel some places will try to take advantage of me because I do not anything about cars. L&T have proved to be honest and trustworthy. I will only take my cars to them.

Great spot with honest, professional, and experienced employees. I had my brakes done, they are now like new! I was told by a dealership my new car needed a service, so I go to L&T for their expertise and they advised against it...talk about honesty

I was highly recommended to L & T by my co-workers and supervisor and decided to bring my car in a couple weeks ago. If you unfortunately got a 2017 Honda Civic like I did, you most likely had to go through the recall where there was issues with the AC not working. I had taken my car to the dealership in Monrovia where I purchased my car brand new and somehow my transmission fluid cap was missing, there was a crack somewhere and my warranty covered issue turned into a whole list of problems. My AC was fixed, but stopped working again a few months later.I've been struggling with no AC in my car for months and I refuse to go to the Sierra Honda dealership ever again, so was thankful to have been recommended to L & T. They were able to squeeze me in and explained the costs of everything beforehand so I knew what to expect. They also were aware of the recall situation, so I knew I was in good hands.I was called few hours later and my car was ready to be picked up. They found no leak, so it might be a more internal and expensive issue, but I was very happy to have AC working on my car again. The owners were so friendly and took their time to explain everything to me. I'm glad to have dealt with such honest people (unlike the dealership that still traumatizes me)Good and honest places are hard to find, so I highly recommend bringing your vehicle here. They know what they're doing.

"You don't know what you're talking about!" screamed the shop owner, when I told him one of his mechanics forgot to put a $17 tube back on during a $2000 radiator/water pump/thermostat job. He had a pretty arrogant attitude and was extremely disrespectful. That type of customer service earns a 0/10. Mistakes happen, I get it, to err is human. It's not about the money. The missing part is cheap and I will replace it myself. No big deal. Maybe the part broke or got lost during disassembly/reassembly. Maybe he thought no one would notice. But instead of telling me it broke, or that it got lost, he said that it was never on the vehicle. This calls into question the integrity of the mechanic.Instead of the mechanic owning up to his mistake, he gets the owner to cover for him and gets in my face telling me the part was never on the vehicle, when I saw it during the vehicle inspection prior to the car entering the shop. Full story: I arrive home from work and notice my radiator is spewing coolant all over my garage floor. I pop the hood and coolant has covered the driver side of the engine bay. I inspect the car and come to the conclusion that the radiator needs to be replaced and that doing the job myself is probably at the far end of my skill level. I decide to take it to a shop for convenience, as I can't spare the 6-8 hours it would require me to do.After seeing the glowing reviews of L & T Japanese Automotive, I decided to take a chance on them. I had the vehicle towed in for the broken radiator. During disassembly, the shop owner recommended replacing the water pump and thermostat while the car is apart. I approve the extra charge. A few days later, I pick up the vehicle and clean out the engine compartment from all the coolant that had sprayed everywhere in the engine bay. I notice a missing part, an air cooling tube approximately 5 inches long that connects the radiator shroud to the ECM box. The shop owner claims the tube was never on the vehicle. The area was covered in coolant due to the broken radiator shooting coolant everywhere. The fan blew coolant in the radiator, shroud, electrical wiring, engine cover and on the block. He said that there would have been a void in the dirt where the tube was if it was taken off by the mechanics. I would probably have agreed with this evidence had I not personally seen the part right before they took everything apart. The less discerning eye would probably have never known it was missing. The shop owner talked with the mechanic and he claimed that he never removed the tube because it was never on the vehicle. The car left the shop without the tube. After showing him video of the tube taken during the pre-inspection, the shop owner still remains unconvinced that the tube was ever on the vehicle. They never informed me the part was missing before, during, or after the job, and I didn't catch their mistake until I got home. They were quick to absolve themselves of any responsibility. Knowing who to trust is everything. The shop owner has to trust their mechanic's word. But when the mechanic tries to lie about his mistake and cover it up, can you trust the mechanic? And can you trust the shop owner to make it right? I think not. The woman working the front desk was very nice. She even applied an unrelated discount for inspecting a TPMS malfunction. Unfortunately, this was overshadowed by the hostility of the shop owner and lack of integrity shown by the mechanic. I had high hopes for this shop but was left very disappointed. How far will they go to defend an unscrupulous mechanic? It just shows they will fight you tooth and nail over a $17 part. Imagine if you have your engine rebuilt here for thousands of dollars and run in to problems. Do you think they will admit to any mistakes or will they lie to cover it up?Caveat emptor. Double check your mechanic's work. L & T Japanese Automotive has lots of 5 star reviews, but what happens when something goes sideways? Are they going to make things right for you? Or are they going to leave

Have been a loyal customer for years and have continued to do so even when I moved 30 miles away. I have never been disappointed when I needed repairs for my old RAV4 with 319,000 miles and thanks to L&T hopefully another 300,000. Ameye and Albert have always been very friendly and caring towards their customers and about providing the best service. L&T is a shop I trust and have definitely recommended to my friends and family.
