Cal Bank & Trust is dishonest and deceptive. Their fees are exorbitant. I have a loan there. This is just one example: the monthly loan payments were taken out of my checking account. They turned off these automatic payments without telling me, then started charging me $140/month late fees. I went into the bank to make the payments in person and they told me to hold off -- they would fix the problem. They didn't fix anything, then charged another $140 late fee. They refuse to remove any of these fees and are impossible to work with. Find another bank.

Called this location for assistance in my account. First, they got my name wrong and kept calling me by a wrong name. Then was put on hold then said would call back because they were busy. Waited all afternoon and no call back. Either they're forgetful or unprofessional. But bad customer service regardless.

Customer service sucks and they charge you $5 to cash checks issued by THEIR CUSTOMERS. Then they give u attitude and take 15 minutes to cash the check. Keep pushing buttons lady u aren't fooling anyone, it's not that complicated to cash a VALID check.

I deposited funds years ago to be able to open up an equity line. I paid the equity line off and forgot about the account with my funds. For years they debited fees (I think he said @ $11 per month) and continued to do so til the account went negative. If that wasn't enough, they sent the account to collections for more fees (on an account that wasn't used in YEARS). As if "feeing" my account to zero wasn't enough (I'm fine with that), they then reported it to collections, my credit and asked me to come down and make a payment to them. No one could help and the man on the phone apologized for my "feelings" of frustration. Really don't need someone apologizing for my feelings--how about apologizing for poor customer service, bad policies and inability to help? Spent 40 minutes on the phone with no resolution. Highly recommend you stay away. There are better banks.
