Every time I come to this location, you are always out of something I need. It's 1130am and I go in for buttermilk, they're out. My recipe says I can use plain whole milk yogurt. They are out. Sigh. It's my neighborhood vons. But I feel it's a waste of my time to come here for anything because every time I do, I end up having to go somewhere else. Your managers need to be trained better on how to order. If they can't figure it out eventually, then they need to be fired and vons corporate needs to hire more people and have them trained by their top trainers. You should rarely be completely out of staple dairy items like that. A nice guy went and checked the back to see if there was anymore. But there wasn't anymore.

Just letting it be known now for when i go to whoever I need to JULIE THE MANAGER from this store gave me the worst attitude and didn’t even TRY TO HELP. I tried to cash out a gift card less than 10 dollars, she said it was IMPOSSIBLE didn’t look at the screen and see what she could do just told me straight up even though i’ve been to this particular store literally and done it before, actually even . TAUGHT the cashier and the other employee something new by telling them to actually try. She treated me like a criminal and like I wasn’t worth serving didn’t listen to a thing I said. I’ll definitely be back. This is ILLEGAL IN CALIFORNIA AND SHE LAUGHED IN MY FACE when I said as much. i will definitely be back and this store is definitely being reported this is not the first time. And Julie, you’re not a good person. I heard you telling the customers behind me how difficult i was when it was you who though you were better and above your job to even try.

Never enough staff, granted the store is never all that busy, but I have been there on 3 different occasions and encountered employees that have already clocked out for the day filling in to help customers waiting. Quality of food and stocking of shelves are always great, so I think this is just an issue with scheduling and not having enough overlapping shifts between morning and afternoon/evening shifts.

The tall gentleman with blue eyes stationed at the meat department was very kind and helpful. I came in very late and he was cleaning but took time to talk to me about the different cuts and advice about how to build muscles eating protein. I came very late so some item ran but he helped me choose some delicious meat.

This place is absolutely horrible to customers. In the past 6 years that I've been going there, there's only been 2 or 3 decent employees. I've had enough. Today, I was putting my wallet back in my purse and they accused me of stealing!
P.S. They only have two isles open ever! Which are always backed up.

Clean grocery store with plenty of items of what we needed. The workers could’ve been friendlier though. There was only 1 kind person we came across and that was our cashier. I was going to bag our items since we didn’t have a bagger and she insisted it was ok and she was happy to bag for me. God Bless her because she was the nicest lady.

This store always smells.. You shouldn't be able to smell fish all through the store.. The ice cream freezer has ice and frost that makes the ice cream taste frost bitten.its been like that for a least 6 months. I hate going to this store.. I only go there if I need one item and don't want to go out of my way to another store. It's not even 2 mins away by car but I rather go 10 to 15 mins away somewhere else. Interesting reading the other views and the same complaint about the same cashier.. and I agree with them.. yet he is still working and displaying the same customer service that everyone is complaining about... I guess Vons doesn't care about customers...

A regular store that I happened to stop by because it was on the way to my friends house. I had to stop by to grab some items the basics: milk, bread, fruit
I usually don’t like shopping Vons or Albertsons. I prefer Costo or sprouts.
But here I am. The store was clean and organized. The employees very serious not very helpful. But that’s ok. I got what I needed went to pay.
I found the cashier interesting she was wearing a dog collar. She was not friendly or rude. She bagged or rather say stuffed my items in one bag and off I went.

So this employee, Jenna, gets a bottle of liquor from the case. Out of habit, respect and not getting a good look at him, I said "thank you sir". Jenna took serious offense to that. When I got to the register, Jenna literally left and opened up another register and didn't help me. I overheard Jenna say, "it's because he called me "sir" to his coworker. I was taken aback at the unprofessionalism and discrimination. This person was wearing a dog collar for crying out loud. Who wears that to work and who let's them get away with the way they act and portray themselves as a representative of the company? I think we've catered too long to a vocal minority who thinks everyone should bow down to their every whim. Vons is lucky that I don't bring up legal action based on the patently obvious discrimination that Jenna has exhibited because I inadvertantly called them sir. Don't go here unless you want to deal with this person.

This Vons deserves a 4 but my checker, Jose, told me I had to place my items " his way in a rude and demanding way. Nothing was to be placed in my shopping bags, period. I am very particular in how bags should be filled. No meat with dairy, fresh fruit and vegetables are packed by themself to avoid crushing greens and bruising fruit. Bread and and bakery items should be treated delicately. So results: bagger put canned goods on top of my produce and my eggs were lucky to get home without breaking.I frequently shop and 3 other Vons North Park, Adams Ave and your wonderful store in Hillcrest. No other store has ever told me rudely, or otherwise, what Jose expected. Is this a store rule or his rule for his little Fifedom!
