Took a clock to be repaired; older man running the place was rude, condescending, and belittling. Im not a clock expert. This is why I took my clock to be repaired. Owner makes you feel stupid. Ended up taking my business elsewhere. Might be good at repairs but horrible customer service.

Awesome service! I took the movement from my Vienna wall clock in to Jim to see about having the weight lines replaced and had it back within two weeks after a good cleaning as well. So pleased to see it working again.

I was doing new year cleaning and found the receipt for our beautiful Westminister wall clock, purchased on July 24, 1981! The finials are packed away but the clock is still running and STILL like it!

What a great experience we had at this business! The proprietor couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. We had a clock that needed repair and he fixed it on the spot in about 10 minutes for a very reasonable charge. Highly recommend!!!

I highly recommend Time & Treasures for clock repairs. I have an old school house clock that I've had about 50 years. The pendulum stopped swinging. I thought it had been wound too tight but both repair shops I got quotes from said not possible. The first guy I went to, in Grossmont Center, said something was broken and said it would be +$600 to fix it. He required payment up front and said it would be 6 weeks. Luckily I went to Time & Treasures next and he said it probably just needs an ultrasonic cleaning and it would be $180. He'd call me if it turned out to be some additional work and cost. He said he'd have it next week and he had it early in the week. It's working great! Nice friendly shop owner, reasonable cost, fast turn around.

I've known of Time and Treasures (Jim Simpson) for forty-plus years; Jim's Shop was the finest then, and more splendid back then, and more splendid than ever now. I had to laugh. Some folks were pissed about how long some things took. Fine antique clocks are a rarity. Fine, honest, and kind antique dealers are rarer. Time and Treasures is the busiest fine antique clock shop I have ever known. And when you are that good, you will be very busy. And, if you are the last of all the finest antique clock shops in Southern California, you become very sought after. Time and Treasures is the Southern California Landmark for antique clock shops. Jim is honest, kind, knowledgeable, and works too hard. These passionate fellows are a gem. Don't ever leave.

This place has the most beautiful collection of clocks I've ever seen.Grandfather clocks of all different sizes, wall clocks, mantle clocks, cuckoo clocks, anything you might want.Repair service in the store or at your house.Great guys to help you too!Been dealing with them for more than 20 years and wouldn't think of anyone else to use.

James is helpful, knowledgeable, friendly. Took my great-grandmother's antique clock for repair and cleaning. Very pleased with the skill and craftsmanship at a fair price.

This shop is amazing and James is the absolute best! I have my mom's 70 year old cedar chest and when I recently moved, the movers lost the key and the chest was locked. Of course, it was a skeleton key. After paying a locksmith to come and open it with no luck, I began looking to purchase skelton keys in the hopes one would work. I stumbled across Time & Treasures and James. I told him my plight and he immediately found several keys. He sold me the keys and told me to go home and try them and come back with the ones that don't fit. After a few trips back and forth and a bit of modification to a couple keys, I was able to open the chest! I now have a key that works on this family heirloom. I am beyond grateful for James and all his help!

Yes, a nice collection of antique clocks. However, we were not pleased with the service or workmanship provided. After bringing a Howard Miller Regulator clock to the shop, we were told the works needed to be rebuilt. We agreed to his quote. Once notified that the clock was ready we brought the clock home .... a few days later, the pendulum stopped. Back to the shop .... it needs a tiny spring. For days upon days no phone call letting us know the clock was ready for pick up. "I'm waiting for this tiny peice to be shipped from somewhere in the east." A week or 10 days later, we stopped into the shop for a status. We were told that the problem was a small piece of metal that was bent .... no mention of the spring. The owner wanted to keep the clock longer to make sure it keeps running for a length of time. OK, good idea. Eventually we brought the clock home, placed it on the wall. Click, stop. Click, Stop. Oh, by the way, the back of the case was gone. It did not come home with us. Back to the shop ..... "oh, it's here somewhere. I'll find it. I did not throw it out. I'll look for it after the shop closes and give you a call. BTW if you don't hear from me tonight, give me a call in the morning." No call from this shop from over a week now. WE ARE DONE! Unfortunately we are out a good some of money. To avoid more stress and upset, we took the Regulator wall clock to an authorized dealer. Of course, this establishment wanted to know the details of what had already been done to the clock and why we chose this clock shop in El Cajon. Silence. Evidently we are not the first unsatisfied customers of Time and Treasures in La Mesa.

This shop has excellent service, prices, and care. They are always willing to help and have done wonders with my antique pendulum clock. This is the only place I'll take and buy my clocks.
