A cashier who made it pretty obvious she does not want to be there and a manager who closed the self checkout while I was standing right there. I mean she actually went in front of me and closed it. Really? I never experienced issues like these at this particular Smart and final. I'm guessing the heat. Well actually I'm hoping it was the heat.

Attempted to be a new customer today. However, the employee that eventually came to unlock the laundry detergent was very rude about it. I hadn't seen laundry soap locked up before and asked her why, mainly because only 2 brands were locked up, and she rudely said "I don't know, I just work here"...(which is a weird thing to say), and then when I asked about the other brands not being locked up, she just walked away - and I still needed something from another cabinet. Not having seen this before I was genuinely curious about why a business would lock basic needs products behind glass and then assign someone who was clearly discontented with their job to unlock the glass. I can't imagine having to deal with this treatment as part of my regular grocery shopping. Needless to say, I purchased the laundry detergent and left.
Hey Smart & Final - Just a thought, but it seems that not carrying these items that you lock up would be a kindness to your customers. Maybe your employees would be happier too.

Changed the whole store for the worst. Everything in here is a hassle. Can’t park on the left because only the right door opens, only one of their “auto entry” gates works, the self checkout is AWFUL I’ve never been more frustrated at a store. GO ANYWHERE ELSE

Self checkout sucks. I don't know how to buy fruits and vegetables with this. And sometimes it's the only option available.Now we have to wait for an employee to unlock a cabinet before buying shampoo, gum, or bar soap; among other items.The employees here are great, and are doing the best they can while their work environment gets more difficult.

Everytime I come here the shelves are fully empty. Veggies are literally never stocked. Left immediately and went to the albertsons down the street where they actually have a stocked veggie section
