Another great hospital location from Sharp, their service also outstanding the same as Sharp Memorial, their employees were very nice and helpful, of course their appointment didn't drag, if you come in 30 minutes early your check in will be smooth and on time, everything here seems to be on schedules without any issues, the only problem would be navigating around especially the elevators were acting weird and taking me to the wrong floor, people getting lost around here same with me, finally I still dislike their parking, as they don't validate tickets, it's $6 for mine after one and a half hour, I hope that would be the entire day, I saw the sign that they would give out discount for ADA, until I got that display on my license plate then.

I had a total Left Knee replacement surgery performed here on January 23, 2024. Please note that the front of the hospital is inder construction, so there is a lot of re-routing of patients to various entrances, which may not be the closest to where you are going within the hospital. Parking is available in several concrete parking staructures that surround the hospital. There are also a few handicapped parking places out in the open up front, but they go fast. I like the fact that there is a little chapel just inside the entrance foyer where you can pray and meditate. Inside the chapel. you will find a quiet room with a big ruffled clam shell sitting on a table. You write a note of prayer you place messages and prayers into the shell. The male and female nurses at Grossmont Hospital are very nice. You often hear them signing songs by Karen Carpenter or Stevie Nicks as they walk down the hallways. That helps lighten the mood and atmosphere, which is, of course, very serious in a medical facility.

What a horrible experience with Dr. Beena Wycliffe!! Waited two hours to have the doctor unprofessionally check my abdominal incision in the hallway (with no screen for privacy, just literally out in the open in a hallway with people walking by). She barely touched my abdomen and told me I was fine. She didn't ask my pain level or take my history, just touched me once and said I was fine. Based on her haste and total lack of professionalism, I have zero confidence in her assessment or her skills as a doctor. Apparently they only take you seriously if you cry and make a scene, because it was only the patients who carried on with the histrionics who got any help from her. If you act composed and don't scream and cry, don't expect any care or professionalism from her. My negative review is not for the hospital itself, nurses are great and I've had good experiences here. It's just Dr. Wycliffe who you should avoid if you have to be seen here. She's awful.

Usually this hospital has an insane wait time, but this review is strictly about Lana L in Emergency. Genuinely the best nurse i've ever met in my life; The sweetest, more caring person.

Nurse Kentha is an angel!!! She is so caring and patient and informative. She goes so above and beyond and is a dream nurse. She is the best part of my moms stay. I would give her 10000 stars if I could. However I took -1 star off the review for Nurse Lewis / Louis. Lewis is the complete opposite. He is very cruel, short tempered, and it is beyond me on why he choose a career that requires caring for others. I have never met a worse human and fear for the patients in his care. He repeatedly yelled at my elderly mother who was enduring a stroke and brain bleed. He made her feel unsafe and when I called the nurses station, using the number that they had given me, he was unfortunately on the other end and said and I quote "call a different number" as he was laughing. He was clearly in a rush to end the call and lied in order to hang up. I called the same number again after 5 minutes and was able to speak with a different nurse who gave me an update on her state in a very kind and calm manner. I get he's still in training, but basic human kindness isn't something you need training to acquire.

They take forever to get the simplest things done they treat everything like a CT scan. They took 2 1/2 hours and still never got to see the doctor the doctor never came and I ended up leaving due to never seeing the doctor.

I keep thinking about the respiratory therapist who told me that he saw my stats drop quickly after he turned off my oxygen to give me a treatment. Only the next time he came in. Unprovoked, with an attitude and walked out of the room without turning my oxygen back on. I know it was racially motivated. This hospital is located in East County. However, Even though I could get up, and turn my oxygen back on (I know how to use it by watching them) Some people are too weak or sick to get up. I hope this young man only did this to me. I hope he doesn't do to other people of color. It hurts to think about. Please speak up if you feel injustices. Push the call light, anything. Don't let them get away with it. Stay safe Grossmont is getting dangerous for POC

This was like a nightmare. About two months ago I went to the ER and ended up being admitted. They put me in a shared room, 2 beds per room. I was deeply distressed due to my medical problem and wanted to rest. Well, wishful thinking. They put me in a room with a homeless woman. I'm not in any way putting anyone down for being homeless. This woman was using the hospital as a hotel and a way to be catered to. As soon as I got there she began farting so loud and cackling at the same time. She was using the toilet and since had diarrhea would leave the toilet a nasty mess. I guess homeless people sleep during the day and stay up the whole night. The TV volume was so loud throughout the day and night it was impossible to rest. All night she'd stay up cackling loudly whilst the TV was on with volume 100%. Then she'd call the nurse to request snacks, 3-4 times at night then she would proceed to fart loudly and go to the toilet to destroy it. At about 3-4- in the morning she would call the nurse again and yell at her saying she needed her painkillers. Nurse would tell her she needed to stop the opiates and get on Tylenol. Well she threw a fit at that time yelling all kind of obscenities this is all while I'm trying to recover from my heart condition. I asked the nurse for a different room but there were no beds available. On the third day, the day I was released she began going crazy because they wouldn't let her go out and smoke. She went psychotic and began yelling racial epithets at the poor CNA. Thank God i went home that day. I'm not getting that bed for free. My insurance only covers 80%. This problem of putting homeless, people addicted to substances, mentally ill with other patients it's a lawsuit, and a big one just waiting to happen. A truly horrific experience.

If I could give 0 I would. They treat their patients terribly and don't see them in the order received. I was passed over numerous times. This place is BS.

AWFUL HOSPITALISMS EVER! I would give them a zero if I could, but I have to give them a one. First of all, the hospital receptionists are awful. They are disrespectful, have terrible attitudes, and believe they are in charge of everything. Find out your role and stay at your computers. Nurse Tammy on floor two comes in second. It's obvious that she needs to retake the positive thinking class. My poor friend is depressed in a room with a window view of vents, and they would only let two people in at a time. They serve terrible food, so he is starving and we are only trying to visit him. I know that's the protocol now, but why wasn't it followed the other four or five times we visited? Clearly, the new policy is only in effect when Tammy is around! Since there could only be two persons in the room, they refused to let his own mother in. All we were trying to do was visit our friend who is in pain and offer him a normal meal, despite her attempts to claim that we were violating the guideline. We eventually gave in to their demands because all we wanted to do was see our friend, but they still insisted that we return downstairs with all of our meals and wait for our turn. Sharp Grossmont must be closed! I SUGGEST NO ONE EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL WORST PATIENT CARE EVER, THEY KILL, THEY DON'T HELP. TRANSFER OUT WHILE YOU CAN.

Our nurse was amazing in the ER but the doctors will literally ignore you and make you sit for hours and hours and hours while other people come in and out. They read our tests and then sat and had multiple nurses come talk to them and they still ignored us.
