The manager behind the desk on the left side of the branch is racist and always has something negative to say whether it's about you, her staff, or a customer. I know this because every Tuesday I come in to cash my check she's the same way. 2 weeks ago I came in and you can hear the echo in the branch and they went behind the wall and talked about black people and Mexicans "always do this" then she sees who the hell she's talking to and changes her demeanor. I'm a regular to this branch and before your itty bitty tellers go to you, look at who they're helping. I seen a review on yelp before and I couldn't believe this treatment goes on, let alone has happened to more than one person (including myself.) Instead of doing that, why don't you go help this line out and learn to keep your unwelcoming thoughts to yourself or express yourself truly after hours. Seriously so unprofessional. Now I know why there are always new tellers in and out of this location.

They apparently pulled out of the CO-OP which connects them to other credit unions, so it now costs a Fee to do transactions at other Credit Union ATM's. And b4 you respond that we still have all the 7-11 ATM's, I'm not about to do a cash deposit or even a chk deposit there. It's fine to get Cash out, but that's the limit of my trust. Shame on you, North Island ? or whatever bloody name or acronym we use nowadays. When will you be changing your brand to Bank rather than Credit Union since there's not a single membership requirement anymore anyways (my Grandparents who helped me open my account in 1984 when I was 14 and got my first job would be rolling in their Graves if they hadn't been cremated).p.s. The lobbies are more sterile than my Dr's office. Just thought I'd get all my complaints about NIFTI, NICU, CCU done all at once!

Just a comically bad credit union. So I get a fraud alert about a charge on my debit card so i call and talk to a rep and they cancel the card. the rep tells me it will take 7-10 days to replace it lol a week and a half without a debit card where i have to go withdrawal cash from a branch for a week and a half but she tells me if i pay $25 i could get in in 3 days but no guarantees. I love being extorted by my own credit union! Kudos NICU! So i choose to wait the 9 days it took to get here then activated my card and attempted to add it to subscription apps, bills and apple pay. But no the card is invalid. I attempted using the NICU app for support chat which...you guessed it.... is out of service. So i call customer service and explained what happened and I was told to attempt, again, to add the card to apple pay. no dice. then i was put on hold for over 20 mins. When the rep came back on i was told the conversation was now being recorded (bad news indicator) the rep explained that there is a widespread problem with the NICU debit cards and there is no ETA on resolution. So i asked will i be notified when its fixed? Nope! i have to call in to find out, to which the rep recommended i call later in the week. Seriously? the rep is just doing his job so i don't go karen or anything just stated how frustrating this whole ordeal is, so i ask to do the survey so i can point out all of NICU's failures to which the rep said would come at the end of the call.....then he promptly hung up on me :) Now i get to experience the joys of changing banks

Wow!!!! Fantastic auto loan rates, wicked fast response. Applied, approved, funded in one day!!! Exceptional rate on extended mechanical service agreement on my loan (50% of dealer's offering). Jesus Hernandez and Alicia Isbell gave STELLAR Service and El Cajon office cut the check speedily!! Thank you all so much!

I went into this branch to cash a $3,000 check from a friend. I was greeted by a nice young woman in a blush colored blouse. I told her about my situation and I was willing to open an account. She told me to wait and someone would help me establish an account there. The person that was suppose to help me walked by me several times. I then jumped back in line because I felt ignored. I was told that they were about to close and they didn't have enough time to open an account for me. My check was then passed to a Hispanic woman at the back desk and then FROM HER DESK SHE YELLED, are you sure this check is good? (My check was from long standing members of this credit union) I was so embarrassed by this outburst. She not only did it once but twice. I decided to not only just cash my check but I refused to do business with a place that treated me like a thief. I do not have an account with this place and if you're a minority I would take my money elsewhere....they are not kind to people of COLOR. THEYRE TERRIBLE. Someone reached out to me to try and fix the RACIST situation but I had already been burned. This is not a good place

Horrible customer service. Impossible to get through. Wasted an hour on phone and never got to an agent. Drove to my local branch and IT IS CLOSED! No mention in the reams of marketing junk mail this disorganized credit union sends out. If you cannot reach customer service what good is it? Go anywhere else for y9our financial needs.

Every time I've gone to this branch, there are never enough people working. Every time I've been told that someone is "running late" and I've had to wait a long time for help to open an account, apply for a loan, etc. I even tried to complete a car loan application online to avoid going in, and after they asked for my communication preference, via email, they insisted on me calling them to get more info, instead of just sending me an email. Why did you ask my preference if you were just going to disregard my choice? Their lending policies are ridiculous with regard to income documentation for a car loan for a customer with excellent credit, especially since I have my business and personal accounts with the branch, and they can see how much money moves through the account every month. I regret having anything to do with NICU. I'd rather pay high fees at a real bank and get some service. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. Just take your business elsewhere. I will. Update. Even though I have clearly stated I do not prefer to be contacted by phone, they keep calling me. These people are awful.
