Went there Friday on my break so only had 10 mins to spend there to deposit a check. Drive thru ATM had 4 cars waiting and only one of the ATMs out front was working so about 5 people in line there. So I went inside and stood in line. After 5 minutes and no movement in the line (and now a total of 6 people waiting in line) I knew I had to leave or else I'd be late from break. I understand it being busy today. But the reason for the low rating is that there were THREE bank employees standing at the information desk at the front door, and NONE of them offered to help customers in line. I later went to
the Santee branch, where they DO pull people from the line to do a transaction at a desk. El Cajon does that too. It's too bad the staff at the La Mesa branch dont have situational awareness & help keep the flow of customers moving.

Their credit card statements do not include an end-of-year summary which makes it difficult to compile expenses at end of year.

I have been a member of NFCU for 10 years. When I first joined it was great. What a true credit union should be, charges were low, services and staff were great. No relationships or true service any longer. They only thing they care about is getting your money into their system. It's time to go open an account at Chase. At least their honest about being strictly capitalists and not this bull about being a credit union and it being better banking. The value of NFCU is void, it's a trash credit union. Especially the branch on Grossmont. The children pretending to be bankers have zero life experience and could find their way out of a paper bag without being told how to do it.

Came in the make a deposit, I was helped by Erika who was beyond amazing! She went above and beyond to help me change my address and some other banking concerns regarding my sons account. When I mentioned I was moving she suggested I looked at Trulia and we found our house!! I had never heard of the app but I am so thankful that Erika took the time to offer me that suggestion which paid off! She also took the time to print out the instructions for my son to set up his online account himself. I normally never take the time to go inside but I'm thankful I did and I will do more of tern knowing Navy Federal hires people like Erika! Her customer service truly made my day! I own a salon and value how well Erika made my experience. Will be back!

I'm so incredibly disappointed with NFCU recently, especially with the fact that in the past they've treated me so well and have gotten low APRs for things like a car loan. But as of Aug 8th, I was reimbursed a provisional credit for being scammed as someone fraudulently transferred money from my checking account. And NFCU took that money BACK on Sept 8! The reason is I quote "the investigation was too complicated for the fraud department so this is now being dealt with by investigators and will take 45 calendar days". NFCU is responsible for protecting and covering my money in the event of a scam. I'm so close to posting this issue publicly on tiktok given the circumstances and how frustrating this all has been. They aren't moving quick enough, they're about to lose a long standing member.

The staff are always welcoming and helpful. I've had several types of transactions and never had an issue, whether inside or at the drive up atm or at the walk up one.

I'm not sure the process of hiring staff but I really do think it is important to train and educate staff on California privacy laws. Secondly, please take the time to add additional training when it comes to communication, customer service and racial justice. I know esstentially this review will not solve anything. But take the initiative to hire QUALITY individuals.

5 stars is not enough. If you qualify to join get down there and do it. Although we do most of our banking at Wells Fargo. But for savings and service this is the credit union is the very best. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. A few months ago I saw an ad for 5% CDs and jumped on it. Most other credit unions were still below 4% and Wells Fargo was below 2%. We joined Navy Federal, set up our accounts and put our money in the CD on one short visit. And we got a second backup credit card, cash reward, no fee, etc. Two months later the CD rates had dropped a little but we were stunned at the opportunity to add to our original CD at the same fabulous rate up to $250,000. What a difference in earning compared to our previous simple 'saving account'. Navy Federal has an excellent online system that allows us to transfer funds directly into the CD. Fabulous Credit Union!

Been a member since I was probably 10. Eligibility because my father served. Retired Navy Captain. Not if that entitles me to anything. I was depositing a small Dividend check as I have done at least a dozen times. It includes my deceased mothers name. That is on record with nfcu when my father notified them. No problem ever. The teller told me I should take it to b of a as they issued the check. She was dismissive and honestly mean. Told me they would never accept that check. No manager available. Bad teller and would like an explanation from someone at Navy Fed.
