Realistically, zero stars. Went in to check out the place and I regret ever stepping inside. This is not a “race card” I’m pulling because it my experience as a person of color. And so I know that how they treated us was due to that very fact. We walked in to no greeting but when a caucasian person walked in a couple minutes after us, I heard a warm greeting, letting them know of a sale. I shook it off but not even 5 mins inside, as we were looking around, I notice this man(possibly the husband?) come stand behind my sister and I staring us down with his arms folded. I tried to shake it off again, giving him the benefit of doubt but when my sister attempted to go behind him, he wouldn’t budge until she got too close then he took half a step forward. He had this mean mugging face on the whole time, as if trying to intimidate me. I followed her and when I turned to confirm my suspicions, he was also turned facing us. It finally hit me, “He thinks we’re going to steal!” Mind you, this is with 4-5 other caucasian customers inside. My sister and I are not obnoxious, we are both very quiet and we don’t touch everything we see. We were actually cautious because we didn’t want our bags hitting anything because this shop is TINY. But after a few minutes of him following us, I told my sister that unfortunately, in La Mesa, which was my home for 3 years, there are still racist people that exist. She felt uncomfortable staying so we left and we went to the antique mall down the street and had an amazing time there. We didn’t even get to make our way to the front of shop because he was basically keeping towards the door. To the owners of this thrift store, I hope youguys do better with your judgement. A gem cannot be a gem if racism still runs deep in your blood. I am so disappointed with how we were treated because I was expecting better from the local people of La Mesa. Such a shame.

Awesome little thrift shop! It's a little tucked in La Mesa but a must see for cute little gems. Great prices and great service. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. Found a wooden utensil holder for only $3!!

Have change with you! Parking around the building is all metered. I went inside to get some quarters and was told no. The reasoning: lots of people ask and I end up not having enough change for the day. The sign on the door says cash only. They may want to invest in a change machine if it’s a regular thing for people to ask or grab more rolls of quarters from the bank. I only came to this area to visit this thrift store and ended up not browsing as I was annoyed after that.

I love this place! I found so many great bargains. I had to buy an extra bag just to bring them back home with me on the plane. The store is clean and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Very small, high prices and no parking. Place looked cute when I did go in but wasn’t worth finding parking.

Cash only & small. But found a few gems here. Their baby clothes is probably the cheapest I’ve seen from any thrift store (about 50¢ per onesies with some specialities a little higher priced). Friendly staff & usually offer a bargain!

I love this store. They have beautiful clothing that are name brands. Lauren, Chico, Nike, adidas and Jones New York. Some items are new with tags !!! Rare and unique jewelry. A lot of Victoria's Secret items. Even VS bra's in new condition. And a lot of house-wares and collectables. I also donate here when I clean out my closet !!!! A win win for all !!! $

La Mesa thrift shop is small but their prices are very reasonable. Goodwill & other thrift stores in San Diego have ridiculously increased their pricing to that of retail and ebay prices. This thrift shop may not have everything you are looking for but they have some good deals on clothes and books. It is definitely worth a look!!
