By far the worst branch. Customer service is horrible. The tellers can't make a single move without getting the managers approval even for a simple deposit mind you no cash was involved. ONLY CHECKS!!! The branch manger needs to do some serious training on customer service. I've been with bank of the west for over 20 years I can't wait to drop them because it's nothing but a disaster every time I go into this branch.

I walked in to ask information about an account I had opened and wanted to make a deposit on and Valeria one of the tellers informed me the account was closed I asked to re open the account and she said I would have to wait in line again I was already in line for about 10-15 mins I'm currently on medication so my responses are slow and before I could even answer she dismissed me and handed me back my ID I felt like that was rude and embarrassing for me as there was a handful of people at the bank I'm going to still open an account but I will also be taking to a manager

Excellent Customer Service,highly recommend I cannot understand how the reviews are so bad.All the staff are top notch including the branch manager Joseph Morales,as well as Valeria Figueroa and Daisy.Their customer service is 10/10 and so is the location of the bank,the building is beautiful,all the staff are banking experts and you will be treated better at bank of the west at the other big banks.Please ignore some of the other people writing nonsense reviews here.I am quite saddened by these false reviews.Thanks again to all the staff at the La Mesa Bank of West Branch for making my banking experience top notch!

I agree with other reviewers re. fees. I opened a blocked trust account for my kid. Contrary to what I was told by the obviously inexperienced employee assigned to assist me when I opened the account, Bank of the West levied a $10 monthly "service fee" on the account after 1 month! Ridiculous to have a "service fee" on an account where the money sits in the account until the child turns 18 in 4 years! It took me a couple of visits to get it sorted out, and Joe the manager became argumentative in the process. (Did someone say customer service training was needed?) If you need efficient assistance at the La Mesa branch, talk to Margie. She is courteous, professional, and knows her stuff. 5 stars for Margie. 2 stars for the branch because of Margie.

The Bank of the West is a fantastic bank for small business owners. The bank manager Mr. Joe Morales is outstanding, very intelligent and extremely competent providing excellent customer service. Thank you Bank of the West for being our bank of choice over the decades and keep up the outstanding work for our San Diego friends.

I don't wish this complaint to reflect upon the persons in this branch since it is the branche that I have used on Saturdays, and they do an ok job within the bank's policies. This is intended for the Bank of the West institution itself. Before now I have never had a bank that "floated" MY money so often and so long. How can you make a cash deposit unavailable for two days? They have a way! Worse yet there is an absolute lie on their reporting to the credit bureaus about an account I had with them. And after more than 2 hours on the phone: they won't correct the mistake; they have to stick to their policy no matter what; they can't change (correct) what they did; THEY DON'T CARE. BEWARE of this institution--they will find ways to take advantage of you for their benefit--once your money is in their bank, it may not be yours again for a while--BEWARE.

WORST customer service in the industry. The La Mesa location should just shut their doors or fire all the current employees and re hire ones with customer service excellence. I had a horrible encounter with the teller, Margie. I left without doing business with her and called the branch manager, Yvonne, and made her aware of my frustration. Yvonne was just as horrible as Margie. Nothing was resolved. At least now I know that their training is unfortunately consistent with sub par customer relation skills. Save your time and frustration, find a bank that appreciates your business and time. #nottodaymargienottoday

Terrible customer service!! Have had to deal with Yvonne the bank manager a few times and they have all been horrible! Yvonne is so rude and unhelpful I have choosen to use the Casa de Ora location. Denise at the Casa De Ora is a true professional! I do not recommend the La Mesa location whatsoever!
