My mom went to this location, while I was visiting SD, to buy some bread and ginger tea. She regularly goes there to get snacks after her doctor visits. On 3/8/24, two security guards harassed her while she was self- checking out, claiming that she had "stolen meat". Confused, she asked that they check her purse and told them that she didn't even buy meat. Racial profiling is not ok Whole Foods. She is Latina. Your security guards harassed her as she left the store, and even called her "stupid".

Karla, you might reconsider working at Whole Foods. We had the worst interaction with you and it ruined our experience at this location. We got no acknowledgment, no welcome, no thank you, literally nothing from you (it made us feel like we interacted with a machine, worse than a machine because even a machine would say something to you on the screen). You did not look at us not even once throughout the whole checkout. This is sad to say the worst experience I ever had at Whole Foods

Service- If I could give zero star I would. This is by far the worse customer service. None of these employees are helpful nor friendly. All stuck up! Employee by the self checkout gave us attitude when we can't use the coupon and instructed us to go to customer service when no one is there to help us. The only reason why we come here is to buy our dog treats. Otherwise, we won't shop here. After all the attitude we received from different employees today. Not sure what happened years ago when we first shopped here. Ambiance- definitely not a friendly store. The vibe is so heavy, even the shoppers. I do not recommend this store, will I come back here? I don't think so, I'll find my dog treats elsewhere.

Whole Foods offers a delightful shopping and dining experience. The spacious and well-organized store is a haven for organic and vegetarian options, catering to various dietary needs. The food bar stands out as a magical spot with an extensive array of salads, toppings, and dressings, along with diverse cooked protein and veggie choices. The soup selection, complete with caloric information, is both savory and piping hot. The option to customize sandwiches and grab a slice of pizza adds to the appeal, making it an ideal spot for a healthy lunch. Quick and friendly service from both cashiers and self-checkout options enhance the overall efficiency. Whole Foods provides a great blend of shopping convenience and enjoyable dining, making it a highly recommended destination.

My favorite market is Whole Foods and my favorite food bar & desserts in a market is also from Whole Foods. I tried several their desserts, my favorite is the cheesecake, the fruit tart is nice too. Also if you feel lazy and don't know what to eat, you can always trust their food bar.

I love to stop in Whole Foods every once in a while to see what I can pick up from their bakery. I'm a sucker for pastries and WF has a decent selection. My new obsession is their mini fruit tart. Ringing in at $2.25, these little things pack a punch in flavor and texture. The cream is sooo good and the fruits are so fresh with a slight tartness to balance out the sweetness. I don't get any groceries here because the prices... just wth. Why is everything at a markup? I'll ball out when my husband is an Attending lol. But as of right now, I'll just stick to their bakery which has some yummies that won't break the bank. Btw, their meat section has a very bad smell. For those prices, it shouldn't smell worse than my beloved Asian supermarkets.

This is the kind of business that deserves Zero Stars. I come in here all the time for dinner. The convenience of being able to grab everything I need and eat it in the cafe is really nice. I come in 5 or 6 nights a week and spend between $30-40 on dinner. Over the last 3 months this store has gone from bad to worse. The majority of the people that work behind the deli counter are snarky and rude. I wish they would get their act together but I'm not going to hold my breath. I'll just let these guys keep skipping me and being rude when it is my turn. Other customers see it and are constantly letting me know they didn't see me and didn't mean to skip me in line. Ask them about the Olive Oil. I've now had 3 different employees at the deli counter tell me there is no difference between Olive Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. These guys will tell you it all comes from the same can. It's crazy how freely they just throw Whole Foods under the bus. You can't trust that they are actually using the ingredients listed at this location. It's disturbing. There's a stigma attached to Whole Foods employees (we all know it) and at the La Jolla location they go way above and beyond to meet the expectation. Keep up the bad work!!!!

First time in a long while to get food from here and first time to visit this location. I ordered cakes online for the holidays (Strawberry Shortcake and Berry Chantilly Cake). We got them two days after I placed the order and also bag few side dish for thanksgiving. The place was packed (of course it's a holiday week) we were amazed on the options (and prices) they have for produce, side dishes, salads, meat and bakery. They also have holiday meals that you can order ahead online for those who don't wanna cook but wants to celebrate the whole festive gathering.. there were enough people/staff that you can ask especially if you're a first timer there. For holiday catering/meal orders they are located on the right side of the store as soon as you entered the door. Strawberry Shortcake was good, it was a real cake and not just the chiffon cake/sponge cake other bakeries usually use. We also got the Berry Chantilly Cake which we had after the holiday and surprisingly it wasn't dry.. the cake and frosting was similar to the strawberry shortcake and the berries were just the right amount on each slices. Each slices was pretty filling. I will definitely get these two cakes at Whole Foods in the future.

Wish they had more locations but I travel 30 minutes to get to the one in La Jolla. I obviously don't go here alot but when I get the chance I just stock up! This is my go-to for bottled milk and chocolate milk. I have tried their wines, cheeses, bread and self service ready food. Great selections of fruits and vegetables and meat. Checking out is great if you have an Amazon account. I check out with my hand! Set it up one time...then next time you just put your hand on the device and you are good to go!

Came here to grab a cake for someone's birthday! The service was great, cannot complain about it at all. The cake was pretty good for a grocery store bakery, but it obviously cannot compete with dedicated bakeries. It's a nice store, definitely above most grocery stores, but since Amazon took over it definitely has become more "corporate". The bakery is decorated nice and is not very cluttered, compared to some. Overall it's a good cake at a good price.

Great spot for a quick weekday lunch. Their elote pizza is my favorite. Parking can be difficult at this time of the day.

" Organic Persian Cucumbers" from Whole Foods. Please tell me what you are doing to the cucumbers? They don't rot the way fresh produce should! Frightening! Instead this strange leakage comes from the inside. Is is irradiated ? Is this your " Apeel"? (totally unappealing!) We pay extra for organic and wind up eating some gross, chemically treated "forever fresh" crap that has an inedible peel, whatever it has been treated with doesn't even wash off! The stars are for the staff.

Good produce and groceries. I would not reccommend the packaged chicken Caesar salad, however.

I have witnessed food safety violations at this location on a number of occasions. Each time in dealing with the department manager, I got unsatisfactory feedback, double talk, and what I feel to be outright lies. Food was being served and held at below-acceptable temperatures, and I've gotten food poisoning there at least once before. On at least three occasions in dealing with the deli, food manager, I found him increasingly belligerent, and now he's had me banned from the store. The store manager was also very rude when I brought to his attention what seemed to be a sewer gas leak in the store. The first time I reported it, they were attentive and effective. This last time dealing with the store manager, I found him apathetic and elusive..... he had a genuine problem to address, and instead he wanted to treat me like the problem. So between the 2 managers, they didn't want me back again, and have gotten me banned from the store. If they had addressed the violations, and maintained the standards of food safety, I would not have ever complained. Now that I did complain, their "solution" to the problem was not to fix it, but block me from coming back and catching their ongoing infractions.
