Second Wind Deck Master deserves way more than just 5 stars. John and Abraham are great to work with. They recently completed three large decks at my house, including one at the second story level. The decks are gorgeous and the workmanship is outstanding. John is very nice, honest and (unlike most other contractors I've had to deal with) he has great communication skills. His designs are planned to reduce waste which keeps costs down. Also, at the end of deck construction, the cut pieces of decking that normally would have been thrown away were used to build an access ramp for my new sheds. More money saved and the ramp looks great too. Abraham is a perfectionist. In past projects, there has usually been an element of disappointment with the outcome. Not this time. I am so happy with my new decks and all of my friends are wowed by the results too. If you are looking for someone to build your deck(s), look no further than Second Wind Deck Master. They are the best!

Needed a balcony replaced. Quote and budget was almost exactly spot-on. Work was completed on schedule. The result was exactly what I had envisioned and everything was cleaned up nicely after job was completed. Communication throughout the project was excellent!

John and his team did a great job with our deck! They were efficient, honest, and attentive to our questions. When we discovered wood rot on the house day one, John and his team gave us the time we needed to fix the problem without sacrificing the schedule. John was also very helpful working within our budget and we never felt upsold or pressured. The deck is solid as a rock and a beautiful addition to our home.

The review is for the customer service (not the actual deck replacement). I just reached out to the company with a prompt reply to setup an an appointment to discuss. In briefly brainstorming over text with them, I was trying to understand the difference between waterproofing and trex. They let me know they only do trex if that's what I would want to move forward with. As we we were leaning towards trex, I thought this would still be a great option. Minutes later, I receive a text they no longer want to proceed with even discussing this project as it would be a headache? This is without any discussion or seeing the property. I am not quite sure why the abrupt reply without further consultation as I was very interested in the service. Unfortunate as it seems many are happy with the decking they provide, but I do wonder how many customers are turned away like this for just for asking a couple questions!Update: They did reach out to apologize for the interaction and provide further explanation which was appreciated.

Like everyone else here, cannot say enough about John and his crew. John was prompt, honest, and knows his stuff!!! His crew Abraham and Martin take pride in their work and are a great team. They show up like clockwork, work very clean, and obviously know what they are doing as well. This was a challenging project given it was a slanted rooftop deck install with drainage and a couple of more curveballs with an existing gas line to be used for a fire table and electric line that had to be worked into the mix. Out came the laser leveling gizmos and gadgets, and flextape/seal to waterproof the entire supporting structure as well as an ingenious method to channel the water flow to existing drainage holes. But wait, there's more! Not only did the project come out right on budget but there was some extra unneeded product for the deck support that will be refunded. Kudos to John, Abraham and Martin. Great job gentlemen!

John and his team were amazing. We reached out to John because we purchased a home with an amazing view, however the deck in back was not properly built nor maintained. There was a sagging corner that concerned us having any sort of gathering over. We decided to go with a composite Trex decking with a cocktail ipe railing, to help with keeping the deck low maintenance for years to come. John was a man of his word. He took care of all the details, purchasing and arrangements. His communication was direct, up front and often. His timeline was followed precisely and he even got us some money back from leftover materials. We would recommend John and his expertise to anyone. If you need a deck, John is your man. Thank you John!

John did an amazing job on our decks he gave us an additional 700 ft.² of outdoor living. We are very pleased with his honesty and integrity for an example even after the job was complete he agreed to come back to make a few changes based on our request. His work is very clean and very professional I highly recommend his work and his team.

I'll start off by saying that I didn't hire John... yet. John came over to my house a few months ago when I was going through a quote spree from local companies to build a nice deck in my backyard. He was easy to understand, he listened to our vision, and he broke the job down into two parts, the upper and lower half of the yard. He gave us the option to build one or the other, or both at the same time, which I greatly appreciated but let him know that I was still sourcing quotes. Here's the thing, while John was great, the prices of lumber were not.. they still aren't. John's professionalism speaks volumes and once the price of lumber comes down again we'll surely make a more aggressive move on the build of a deck but at this point in time it's simply too costly. John = great Lumber prices = terrible So there you have it, if you have the need for a deck and pockets deep enough to make it happen, Second Wind Deck Master is your guy!

John did a phenomenal job on our deck! We have an older house and our deck was unsafe/unusable for many years. John came out and offered a ton of great advice...understanding exactly what we were looking for. The new deck is up to code and as maintenance free as possible (it was obvious that I didn't keep up on maintenance on the old deck!). We went with Trex Select and all treated lumber for the rest. We couldn't be happier!!!! Well under other quotes we received and truly a beautiful new deck! Abraham (John's lead installer) is a master carpenter and his attention to detail shows. Our build involved a second story deck, had to ensure that the roof eaves were supported during construction, scaffolding, etc... John had it all sorted out with no issues. I love the fact that John doesn't mark up materials. We placed a bulk order that I paid for and then he gave me receipts for all miscellaneous material expenses. Other companies would certainly mark it up 10-15%. His bid on materials was almost spot on, so he knows what he's doing. Overall, I highly recommend John with Second Wind Decks. Couldn't beat the price and the wife is extremely happy to have an incredible new deck that we can finally start using again! It's absolutely amazing...we're so happy with every aspect!

I loved working with John and his crew! They were on time and hard working. John is very responsive and gets things done quickly and correctly. I love my new stairs and deck. I have worked with other contractors and I can safely and truthfully say it was a pleasure to work with John and his crew. You don't hear that very often!
