The current management at JCC leaves a lot to be desired. We members pay $80 a month or $15 a day on top of our membership to swim in the master’s program. While people from UCSD use our the master’s lanes without paying any extra fee, taking lanes that have been paid for by the master’s members from JCC. Management is nowhere to be found.

The group gym classes are freaking awesome! Especially the Circuit and Cycling ones were way better than I could have ever expected. I'll try the other ones too: they all seem Amazing! Super cool place and people!

Love Lawrence JCC - one of my favorite pools of all time!!! They always have longer lanes open which is a dream to me. The pool is kept at a very nice temperature. It took me no time at all to work back up to 1 hour straight of laps and I don't get too hot or cold - a godsend!! Pool is pretty clean although I do see some random stuff at the bottom sometimes lol but that's a given.A lot of kids swim here and this is the one bit of downside - the swim team reserves the pool from 3-6 every weekday. It's not great timing for those who want to hop in the pool directly after work and it always kinda sucks to swim after an entire team for quality purposes. I've just started coming in the mornings instead when I can make it out, unfortunately I got sick recently (probably from swimming here tbh even though it is very clean) so it's been a couple of weeks. Writing this to encourage myself to go back :) Also want to try swimming with the Masters tem someday!I'm Jewish but there are plenty of non-Jews that come here. So don't let that stop you. Staff is mostly very friendly and so are the other gym goers. It's nice that they have a cafe and multiple places to eat inside although I haven't tried those yet.The workout room is really nice. Equipment is clean and modern, 1 squat rack, wall mounted punching bag. It hasn't been crowded every time I've gone in there, even at peak times. I always get a lane to myself in the pool too.Women's locker room is very nice, can't speak for the men's obvs but it was recently closed for a bit. So hopefully everything is okay there. Showers are nice and soap is provided. No towels. 2 swimduit drying machines.Thank you JCC for being such a wonderful facility!!!

My young son goes here and man all I can say is this establishment is absolutely amazing! Everything is so good im not sure where to even start. First, the staff is absolutely amazing. They are super responsive to any questions you might have and are always available for anything you need. Second, the facility itself is absolutely stunning and has some many different options for the children. Lastly, you can just tell they absolutely think about your children first. My son comes every day saying how much fun he has had but also learned to! It's a very special place for our family now and honestly look forward to our sons extended time there!

The JCC and J-team was a huge part of my sons' childhood and I will always have a soft spot for this place. Still hoping my now teenaged sons will consider being camp counselors at Camp Jaycee!

The worst pool I've ever swam in. Also, the lifeguards who I encountered were rude. I swam here years ago and am finally leaving a review now. I would never ever come back here.

If you are looking to purchase a membership in order to use the fitness center, I would highly advise against it. The monthly fee is the same or more expensive than several other local gyms, which are far cleaner, have more equipment, have better AC, and have more helpful staff. They also require you to cancel membership at least 30 days in advance, which means when you want to cancel, they will squeeze another billing cycle out of you, which comes off as very predatory. I joined because it is close to UCSD graduate housing, but now I realize why no other grad students work out there.

This is an awesome place to work out during Covid! It's really close to where I'm staying so it's super convenient. Everyone is very nice and the machines are fairly decent and sterile and we are all a practicing social distancing!

The JCC is amazing. They go through such an extra effort to clean and make us all feel safe during covid while offering amazing classes and exercise opportunities. The outdoor gym is great. Robyn the fitness leader is so kind and warm and always talks to you when you visit. She is the best part of the JCC! The whole staff at the J are welcoming and friendly. They've done a great job during covid.
