For hair, Suzi O. is what makes this place. Never complacent, very good at what she does, always up on the latest product development and evolution of advancement of craft in her field, only uses high quality product (particularly Kevin Murphy), and good at fixing hair problems in a way that still can stay true to the client's desired aesthetic. She's a real pro, versatile, and a pleasant person for the client to be around.

This is my favorite salon! Sara, the owner, is fantastically talented with cut and color. It's a cute place, tucked away among many cottages just off Montrose Blvd. Her shop is always clean. She is attentive and up to date with the latest styles, colors. Thee best!

For waxing services, Essy is the best!! As one of her many long-time clients (more than 10 years!), I followed her (like so many others) to Pure, where she's set up shop for waxing and facials and all sorts of skin care services. Essy is truly one of the best (and nicest!) in the business, and I wouldn't trust my eyebrows to anyone else. She is very skillful at grooming brows to complement your facial shape and features, not just to tweak, clean, or trim into thin lines -- I always get compliments on my eyebrows after seeing Essy. Her prices are also reasonable, and she works in a beautiful, calming space. I almost didn't want to post a review about how great she is because any new clients would make her less available to me, LOL. But I adore Essy and know she deserves such positive reviews.

Went there today for the first time to get a Brazilian wax from Essy. I had never gotten a Brazilian wax before. Essy was great! She made me feel comfortable and while I can't say it was painless -- I'm not sure there's a such thing as a painless Brazilian wax -- I didn't yelp or anything and didn't feel it had been terrible once it was over. I definitely recommend it and I will return to get it done again.

Essy is the best waxer I have ever been to. I have been seeing Essy for over 10 years. When I lived in Portland and NYC. I missed her so much. Her work is quick and the least painful I have found. What really sets Essy apart is her attention to detail. She takes the tweezers to any strays, trims so that it is impossible for anything to be out of place, and uses cooling lotions and towels to minimize redness. I usually get my eyebrows, upper lip, and bikini done. After 15 to 20 minutes, I am set for the month which is a total steal at her rates. I have sent relatives and friends to see Essy. They are all regulars now. Give Essy a try. You'll be happy you did.

First off, let me just say that Gina is AHHMAZING beyond any words I can put together into sentences. After my first appointment with Gina, I fell in love! with both Gina and waxing! Not only is Gina awesome and made me feel comfortable so quickly but she's super affordable, I sometimes feel like I'm robbing her! Needless to say, I love Pure Hair & Skin Lounge. :]

If you are looking to have highlights put in because summer is on the way,Sara is the best at knowing what color and shade to use to enhance your hairstyle. She is also great cutting men's hair.
