On 10/11/2022 I spoke with Mike about building a flathead for my 1950 Ford, he gave me a price and I agreed to pay it. The completion was to take 16 weeks. As someone who works in the automotive field, that is an excessive time frame , but he is a well known engine builder so I agreed to the timeline. He also requested a $5500.00 deposit. That should have thrown up the red flags, but again he is known for being an exceptional engine builder, so again I agreed. It is now 03/17/2023, 22 weeks later, and still no engine . The outcome of this story is yet to be decided, but I hope my dealings with this company will allow someone else to not make the same mistakes I made. Please be cautious of making large deposits to this or any company or persons as you end up in the same boat I’m in.

I sent them an 8BA to be rebuilt and bought some Navarro heads, I also supplied them with my own parts. When they were done they took some of my premium parts and put bent or damaged ones (that they tried to paint over) back onto my engine. I found MY good parts on a Brizio engine in the shop. When I accused them Max Sr. got in my face and told me to get the F*&k out of their shop. Then Mike charged me on the invoice for water pumps that I supplied and took my starter, it was in another part of the shop. NEVER AGAIN !!! Live and learn folks. I should have taken pics of ALL my parts before handing them over. Every month at car events (shows and swaps) I hear nightmare stories from people who used H&H flatheads and had to learn the hard way. I'm only writing this review because I wasted $6,000 with them, I'm tired of hearing stories from others. I've been in the Hot Rod business for over 30 years.

Terrible parts , knowledge of engine theory minimal to say the least ,slow as molasses in Iceland . And this is my friendly review they took down my first one . Give me a call (314)280-1074 will be happy to save you from a bad experience and point you towards a better parts source, kind of funny if you look at the last recent reviews that were all just posted in a feeble attempt to save face . And I made plenty of phone calls to Mike by the way ,just to receive the him haw run around . LMAO just keep it real folks!

Mike Herman and family are some of the most stand up people I have had the honor to meet in the automotive world. Not only are they the best at what they do, they stand behind their work and were very clear with communication on any questions we may have had. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again. Clearly any negative review never took the time to pick up the phone or stop by the shop with their concerns. Their catalog is great too! Five stars !

These guys are hacks at best. They do no follow up and they sell junk. I spend over 8k for a blower that makes no boost. When you call all you get is bullshit. No customer service and crappy work. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Simply the best if you want your flathead Ford rebuilt! No one comes close to the quality that comes out of this building.
