I haven't snow boarded in so long, and this was the first time I've been here. The people are very friendly and the staff are great. The friends we were with had their son in a board class for a few hours. The cost I was told was average for classes and for the one day lift tickets. Season passes are a little bit cheaper and come with food and beverage discount perks. If you live on the Nevada side, the commute will be a bit of a drive, but it's worth it. This season, Kirkwood has more snow because it is at higher elevation. At Heavenly, you got to get to the peaks in order to ride, and it's more expensive. Anyway, I'm not an expert by no means, and It was nice being up in the sierras and being in the snow for the day.

Horrible service by the person at the counter where we got our snowboarding rentals. After telling her it was our first time doing lessons, amd spending over $400.00 she failed to let us know that the rentals don't include the goggles, the pants, and the gloves.?Probably will never return to this place, or if I do, I'll make sure not to deal with this person.

Excellent and organized ski lessons for kids as a 1st time learner. Kids can ski down the green path(graduation) after a full day group lesson. The facility, lessons, and the coaches are very friendly to kids. It's slow for adults' rental by the end of snow season in early April though. It's better to arrive at the resort before 9am to get a parking spot on Saturday morning.

I Love Kirkwood! It has a good mix of Advanced Terrain and Beginner slopes. The Rental services are always efficient and professional.

The location is fantastic, however the ski instructor here (the old guy) is really bad. There’s very little teaching and a lot of screaming. Asking questions highly discouraged by him and he is super condescending.

Intimate feel with awesome terrain. Magic carpet and kiddo chairlift is close to the parking lot. Less busy than heavenly with great trails and staff. Has become our go-to in Tahoe.

Kirkwood has spectacular ski runs with gorgeous views! Timber Creek Lodge has minimal services. You can walk into the restrooms with out a mask. But if you turn right into the restaurant before the restrooms, now you have to have a mask AND your vaccine card to eat! I asked about water to drink before skiing. Can't go into the restaurant but they have a large jug outside BUT there are no paper cups. So if you want to eat or drink water during your expensive day of skiing, be prepared and bring your own cups and food! We cut our ski day short short so we could find a place to eat and drink and there is no where close.

Coach Aaron changed our perspective about their private lesson and our entire skiing experience! First off, we booked everything online, it was a breeze to get our rentals and find our coach. The magic carpet and lifts were not as crowded as last time and that made learning a little easier. In addition, coach Aaron was simply amazing as a teacher who taught a 3 year old to go from 0 experience to bunny lift within 3 hours. At the same time he helped perfect a 7 year old, and 2 adults. My only caveat about the private lesson setup is that neither rentals nor lift tickets are included in the cost which can make the overall experience a little expensive.

Great mountain to ski. Amazing diversity of terrain. Great for beginners bit even better for experts. Lot more locals go here so it has an enjoyable feel. Food is outstanding but expensive.

Kirkwood i's always nice to go to. Long drive but truly beautiful country side. I wish they would add some more high speed lifts, especially the Sunrise Lift. Maybe a main lodge to have lunch

Cheapest hill to ski in Tahoe. Also on the epic pass and one of the best hills in the area, generally not too busy, and lots of challenging piste.

Affordable compared to most ski resorts but the routes are mostly intermediate and advance.

Nofrills place for rentals and some skiing/boarding stuff. In person rental price is slightly higher than off-site shops. However, gears seems to be higher quality. And you get discount yo order online in advance.Other skiing gears for sale are generally higher price. That's great for emergency situations. Gear shopping should be done before you get to the resort anyways.Stuff move quite fast to get renter out of the door. Ordering online save you two stops, so that's even faster. You can keep your own shoes there if you also rent boots. the lifts are right out of the door. Kirkwood's lift ticket is cheaper than Heavenly or Northstar. So it's a great place to learn with your Epicpass holder friends. Get buddy pass from them for even better prices.Lastly, the staffs working there are super nice and very accommodating. One time I rented a snowboard for my daughter, she wanted ski instead. We walk back in and was out with a ski and boot after 10 mins or so. No additional charge.
