It's in the middle of nowhere so the gas prices reflect where you are. The staff was sooooo lovely and helpful. The store is very well stocked. Would stop there again if out that way. They have ice, great beer selection, local wines and did I say the staff were very helpful.

A friendly store that make you feel welcome every time you visit. The store has everything you could need on a trip and they go out of their way to support local Monterey County businesses. This is truly a great store to visit and n a road trip!!

EDIT april 2019: I knocked a couple of stars off since the last few times I've been here the bathroom was closed, leaving me to take a leap of faith trying to relieve myself in a pitch-dark port-a-potty.

This gas station is conveniently located and stocked with more than a standard convenience store. They have extras such as cleaning and home supplies, beach/summer toys, lotions, lip balms, etc. The selection isn't great, as expected, but it's nice to have the variety if need be. The restroom is just a single unisex restroom, but it's clean and kept. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The gas is the usual higer priced Chevron gas. But you get what you pay for.

This is a great little store and gas station plopped in the middle of nowhere in a place called King City. My aunt and uncle live here and I spent Thanksgiving in King city every year. It's a tiny little town and I'm grateful for this cute place that has a store packed with all the essentials like soda and snacks and some beer and wine and also has a gas station! It's right off the 101 exit for Jolon Road, but they don't rip you off because of that fact. Most joints right off the highway have gas that's a dollar more than everybody else. Not so Scotty's! The prices are competitive with everyone else and you don't have to worry if you need gas in the middle of nowhere that you'll spend a ton of money. I love having this little store close by to my aunts house! Great job Scotty's!!!

Good people run this place -- they tracked me down after I left my wallet there! I remember thinking to myself that it seemed like a well-run operation, clean and organized, with more useful items for sale than your typical gas station. (I got these awesome leather work gloves in a small size, something that's hard to find in even a proper hardware store) Plus they have diesel! It was the first time I'd taken the "back route" to Big Sur and it is reason alone to travel that way if you are heading into the national forest.

Very clean bathroom. After taking Jolon Rd before jumping onto the 101 this is a great place to stop to fill up. Very friendly staff.

A local establishment owned and operated by Mr. Scotty Hayes and his wife Ruby since 1973. Bright, Clean, and Service with a Smile. Conveniently located for Pine Canyon residents or travelers on Route G18 (locally known as Jolon Road) Whether you're traveling to the lakes, wine tasting, taking the back roads to Big Sur or living in the KC area, Scotty's store has what you need in a pinch. You will find all the amenities of a traditional gas/convenience store coupled with a lovely selection of wine, groceries, fruit and dairy items. He also carries local Roy's Swiss Sausage Factory meats; great for that afternoon BBQ. So stop on in, see for yourself and tell him I say HI. Scotty himself is still there most days. Scotty takes great pride in his store and it shows. In 1990 he undertook the massive task of demolishing the musty old store that had once been the Dew Drop Inn. Replacing it with a modestly modern one and adding gas pumps, he provided a much desired convenience to his loyal patrons. A picture of the former store sits framed on the wall inside. A reminder of just how much that little store has grown.
