125 Buena Vista Dr, KernvilleWe got the 16oz ribeye steak that comes with mashed potatoes (or fries), green beans and a soup (clam chowder) or a salad and then an espresso martini. High quality meet, cooked perfectly and flavorful, same thing for the sides and the soup. The espresso martini was delicious too. The restaurant itself is a beautiful location and offers a great view of the kern river. Unfortunately we couldn’t eat in the indoor fireplace room. the service could have been better and my plate had a few chips. But food and location wise is highly recommended.

McNally’s General Store
1941 Kern River Hwy, KernvilleI enjoyed an outstanding steak dinner on our week of camping near the Kern River. It's outside of town, a nice drive north about 15 min from Kernville, the food was great. The service as on point and the portions very good. If you eat in the patio, the views are great in the enclosed patio. The steak was cooked to perfection and was great treat while camping. They also have a mini market, burger stand and motel.

13415 Sierra Way, KernvilleWe got a classic bacon cheeseburger and their sequoia red ale. Let me tell you that that was the best burger I’ve eaten so far in the us, perfectly cooked,
All the ingredients were balanced,
the bread wasn’t overwhelming just the right texture and amount,
the meat was juicy … what else to say? Oh yes, outstanding waffle fries, great service and really nice location.

Creamy and delicious flavors, wonderful service and several toppings available. They often have cookies and other baked goods, too. From there it's an easy stroll to Riverside Park to watch the water flow by from a shady bench.

11030 Kernville Rd, KernvilleFrom Los Angeles. went on an adventure through kernvill 10/19/24. and found this diner. The food was amazing ! So filling. Great portions. I had the chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy. I have had them at different places, but this is number one. The steak was cooked great. The gravey is bomb. Lowkey was full but wanted to finish it all and I could not..: ??. . My girl also had the western burger. she loved it. She said the burger didn’t give off just a basic one. Gave that authentic mom and pop burger joint taste. The fries were godly. Cooked to perfection with the crunch. The staff was super friendly and attentive and recommended events and things for us to do while in town. Definitely recommend this place. Probably one of the best diners I’ve ever been too. Now everywhere will have to compete.
