Went for the burgers, stayed for the view. Stopped in to have lunch and had a great burger, the kids cobbled down some kids menu chicken strips and we topped it off with a great apple thingy desert. Nice and clean place, staff is absolutely great, ABSOLUTELY amazing views of Carson Peak and the surrounding mountains; I would definitely come back!

This review is specifically for the restaurant.Location: BeautifulService: A little slow on a Saturday night when restaurant was a little more than half full. Waiters and servers were very nice though.Food: Burgers and fries were both great in taste and filling. However, our order got mixed up in terms of the cheese and how we wanted our patty to be grilled.Had to call the restaurant the next day as I left something there by accident. They had the item, but the general manager was rude to me on the phone and hung up on me which is why I deducted a star. Looks like there were other reviews like that too.

Friendly staff. Dogs are welcome, even in the restaurant! A sports bar with several screens. Full service spa and a trout pond for catch-and-release fishing. AAA discounts begin in October. There are numerous hiking trails nearby. We'll be back!

Miguel (masseuse) was top notch, seriously. All 3 girlfriends had him and we all said our massages were one of the best we've had, ever. For a few 40-year-olds that love massages, that's saying something.I had called the hotel beforehand to discuss our reservation and had a wonderful conversation with the hotel manager who set us up with a great cabin.Overall, service was great. The cabin itself was cute, but a little outdated. There was a grill, but no briquettes. A glass cutting board (eek). We were required to wash all our dishes (no dishwasher) and needed to take all our sheets off the bed and place all linens outside upon checkout, or else we would be charged an extra fee.If we were to come down to the area again, we would definitely see if Miguel was still working at the spa, but may spend some time comparing accommodation options, although we probably would not find another place with a full kitchen for what we paid.

This place was Awesome! Can defiantly see myself coming back for a weekend getaway. The rooms are very rustic/classic cabin looking but very well kept.Everyone who works here is super kind and nice! Food especially at our reception was EXCEPTIONAL.

it's a nice location and still an ok place but it needs some serious upgrading. the guest house is totally outdated and needs work. our friend is in a cabin and it's also showing it's age and lack of attention. there's a list of things that need repair. the pond is nothing but moss and weeds. the resort has seen better days but there's not a whole lot of options in June Lake.

It was an insane visit but ultimately led me to absolutely adore this spot. You can tell it's been in better financial times in the past, maybe just trying to endure things post COVID with short staffing and maybe us being there in the off season!?!First, it felt like it was 100% out of a Twin Peaks episode -- just needed some damn fine coffee and pie at a local diner to make the narrative complete.Pros: lodge stylings, a wonderful building with indoor swimming pool, hot tub, spa, etc. with funky old mining train decor and skylights that is clearly also the fitness center for locals, cozy bar space, and tucked in the trees.Downsides that actually turned out to be upsides because they were just too good to be true: took us nearly three hours to get a key as their system went down and no one knew how to use the manual keys (I literally watched the manager dive over a balcony railing trying to get into a room through a sliding door and my partner who is in IT stepped behind the desk to try and troubleshoot), the bar tender had absolutely no idea how to make any drinks or pour draft beers but was so earnest and eager to learn (we had a hilarious time teaching him how to make simple 1-1-1 cocktails like a Negroni), retiree aged folks were fly fishing in a tiny pond on the property that looked like the kiddie pool version for training newbies, a giant hole near the pond turned out to be a water issue that the bartender told us the manager dug himself in his sport coat a few days ago (this was the bartender's way of conveying the manager's can do attitude which we came to be absolutely charmed by in the end).Writing all of the above doesn't really capture how fun and funny our stay was. I'd choose it again over a chain hotel without a doubt just to get the charm and hopefully some more hilarious stories/ memories. I hope it stays open forever and ever.

The Double Eagle Resort is a dream. The pool, the beautiful, large, clean hottub with glass ceiling and massive windows. Not to mention the quaint, mine inspired decorations that just make it all perfect. The spa is incredible. I had a perfect massage and pampered myself in the locker room with all the amenities. It was such a perfect place to stay and couldn’t recommend it enough. Not to mention the delicious restaurant right there on the property. It was everything you could hope for in a stay.

My only concern was - when can we go back? Double Eagle absolutely takes your breath away. We spent most of time on the grounds and not at June lake, as everything was over the top and just more than we even expected. Only a few minutes drive to the lake(s) if needed. Magical memories with my mom and daughter and her bff. Aaron, Brady, Chris and Rachel made this place even that much better. If you're confused on the 3 star ratings? Some clarification, this place is not meant for those people. Yes you may need a second or even third choice on the menu when dining, as you are in the mountains, but they had ample food choices....very remote BUT if you know anything about being in the mountains like this, then you know what they have here is absolutely over the top amazing. You are in the middle of nowhere with 5 star amenities. Yes you need to be patient and the rewards you get, is priceless here.

no air conditioner, no air conditioner, no air conditioner. The important thing need to be expressed 3 times. If you cant stand heat. Do not try here. It surprised me as a 300+ bucks hotel. At night, temperatures in room is much higher than outside. Food in the restaurant not that great but not cheap as well.

Wonderful spa set in the beautiful Sierra Mountains! They have a full gym with plenty of cardio/weight machines, free weights, and a cycling room. The dressing rooms have their own hot tubs and sauna rooms! My favorite part was the indoor coed pool and hot tub where you get a great view of an impressive waterfall. The spa area even has a snack and drink mini bar! I will definitely be back for another relaxing day in a gorgeous place.Nearby activities: Silver lake and gull lake are just minutes away by car! Both lakes have a marina and store. You can also access nearby trails including reverse peak, gull lake loop, and Yost (all found on Alltrails app).
