•Great Value. Price ranges from $50/nt for a "Cowboy Room" that has double bed, mini fridge, microwave, and a bath that is down the hall. But, $95 can get you two rooms with bath. There are also 3 bedroom/kitchen/2 bath units for less than $200/nt.•Dining options are limited: pizza at the bowling alley, food purchased at the PX, about 3 nights a week the Hacienda kitchen has a supper for purchase(good value)•Entertainment: bowling($5 game), pool and other games at the Rec Hall. The history, beautiful views, and quiet evenings are great, but be ready for revelry at 6:30am.

A pleasant stay in a place soaked in history, now smack in the middle of the army base Fort Hunter-Liggett, generously available to the public as well as military personnel on leave. The rooms are dated but comfortable for a 92 year old building without air conditioning and very little heat. Very quiet except for the bugle calls at 5, 9, and 7AM, which did not disturb our sleeping pattern.I would recommend this stay on a wine-tasting trip of the coastal wine region. The countryside in this area is beautiful, and we were not targets for the live fire drills. The Hacienda has a pleasant bar which is well attended at cocktail hour, sometimes with snacks. Otherwise one can get food at the bowling alley and at the Subway on base.Nearby is th Mission San Antonio de Padua, very interesting.

Such a cool throw back to William Hurst. The Hacienda was built by the same architect that built Hurst Castle ? Located within the perimeter of the Fort Hunter Leggett, the "Haas" is a true hidden treasure. Entry to the base does not require a military ID. Show a valid driver's license at tge gate, and your in.

Very historic place for a night's visit. When making our reservation, the website was faulty and it was nearly impossible to reach the manager by phone (Gabriella?) and it seemed the only way to speak to a representative was to call the kitchen, where a nice lady was usually able to track down the manager. But the facility is worth a visit. For us, more than one night would have been too much. We were aware from the website that some rooms did not have AC and we never got a response back from Gabriella to our email when we asked if our room (Tower room B) was equipped with AC. But we took our chances anyway. Our luck of course, it did not have AC. We got by okay with the provided fan. The Hacienda is such a historic place that it's a shame the management is not up to the game. Although the Hacienda is within a military base it is probably operated by a vendor through a civilian contract. We enjoyed our stay but was surprised there appeared to be only one other customer's car in the parking lot during our visit. Be aware, food choices are very limited and your best bet for a meal will be the Subway sandwich shop down the road. But we found the isolation to be part of the attraction. . but for only one night.

Great historic old site. So quiet. Rooms are large, well appointed though spare. We came here knowing that the bar, snack bar and bowling alley may be closed, that we probably wouldn’t see the property manager, and that we would arrive after 4 pm so would used the lock box on the door to let ourselves in. All turned out to be true. Some rooms had AC in the windows and some did not. But ceiling fans kept it pleasantly cool.We brought our own food and coffee, but the vendor had coffee and filters and a couple of muffins upon our arrival. The full kitchen in our suite (we stayed in the lower commander’s suite) was spacious. Tub with shower and also had a powder room.During the day we visited the nearby mission San Antonio - restored and lovely. Then drove to Paso Robles (about 45 min away) to tour a brewery and get dinner. At night the base plays Taps at 10 pm (the coyotes howl along) and revelie at 6:30 am (blessedly brief). But both were kinda cool. Other than that the place was so quiet! Lots of wildlife. All in all a nice affordable place. Amanda, the desk and reservation manager was great. We would give 5 stars but a few minor detractor-vendors should vacuum out the lovely window sills, repair or put up screens on windows and doors where they are missing. The bathrooom in our suite needs a mirror, and one of the bedrooms needs light bulbs in the overhead light. All in all, a great place to stay and explore!

Made reser vations well in advance for 3 1 of us had to sleep on floor . Asked for additional towels and coffee and were accosted by manager . The place is beautiful but not well maintained . Base staff kind and pleasnt . Hacienda staff rude and un accomididating what a shame for such a historical California landmark . Was a miserable time . We requested additional room so 3 rd did not have to sleep on the floor . Got lied to told they were sold out . Not one car in parking lot and all rooms empty . Do your self a favor and pass this place up.

Super cute place. Inconvenient location and the a/c doesn't work so you have to open the windows or you'll die of heat. However, you can't open the window without opening the blinds so there's no privacy. For the price it really is great and a fun little place to stay!

Love this place. It is authentic California Mission History. If you like The old mission architecture, ca history, and oak trees - this is it! If you are looking for a resort vacation and luxury, don't come here. It is rustic, air conditioning only in the suites if it works, not much lighting at night, no night life unless you create it, not much for food nearby, and tv channels are minimal. No office staff at night. Army wake-up and taps at night. Excellent ambiance, views, hiking, and solitude. Unique experience!

Pleasantly quaint accommodations. Stayed there a couple nights with a few buddies. As we explored the Pinnacles. The lodge is on the base. Which is a great experience in it self. The base has a bowling alley, running track, swimming pool, workout facilities and other amenities. Which as a guest of the lodge you are able use.Two of us stayed in a suite. The suite was well appointed with comfortable beds, cable TV, living room, dinning room, and a full kitchen with plenty of utensils. We all thought the lodge was worthy of staying there again with out hesitation. Enjoy.P.S.Bring your own coffee

Staying at the Hacienda has been on my bucket list. Getting on base was easier. We brought our passports, since I don't have a Real ID. The rooms are nice here. We stayed in a tower room. The bar was closed, the Subway on the base was closed, but it was still a good time. You're there for the history and the experience. Be warned that since it's on a military base, you'll get a wake up bugle at 6:30am.
