The Commissary at Fort Hunter Liggett may be a small store, but it is mighty in its offerings and service. Serving as a vital resource for the remote military post, this Commissary provides Soldiers, families, contractors, and rotating units with a well-stocked selection of essentials. While the store's size is compact, it is clean, organized, and surprisingly comprehensive. Customers can find all the basics - meat, dairy, snacks, toiletries, and even fresh produce. The inventory is thoughtfully curated, ensuring high-demand items are consistently available, even during busy training exercises. The standout feature of this Commissary is its exceptional staff. Described as courteous, hardworking, and always ready to assist, the employees make a significant difference in the customer experience. Whether tracking down shipments, answering questions, or restocking popular items, the staff's dedication and customer service are exemplary. One area for potential improvement is extending the Commissary's operating hours during major training events. With thousands of troops cycling through in shifts, longer or more flexible hours would greatly improve accessibility and support mission needs without compromising service quality. Overall, the Fort Hunter Liggett Commissary is a dependable, well-run operation that exceeds expectations for its small size. Customers appreciate the wide selection, friendly staff, and vital role this Commissary plays in supporting the remote military community.
I came to FHL for tdy and was pleasantly surprised with how much the commissary had to offer. The manager, Nicole, and her staff are super nice and helpful. I took some photos and added them for reference.

As other have said, this commissary is on the small side...but it's mighty!I was able to pick up a few items before a field deployment and managed to find everything I needed.I appreciate the staff's helpfulness in assisting me with looking for a few items.I wish they had a little more room however, feels a little cramped.

One of the smallest commissaries I’ve been in, but it does have the essentials and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
