We adopted cricket, a little Yorkie girl. She is a delight and Jackie was wonderful and especially helpful. We had a wonderful experience with our adoption. It's good to adopt and give an animal a forever home. That's what cricket will have with us.

The staff was always responsive and kind. We loved the casual atmosphere and getting to visit with the cats and dogs that were roaming happily. We are now enjoying our Pepper, and thankful for such a positive experience, to help find our new family member(who is already feeling at home).

They do great work. We ended up adopting a dog from Animal Control next door because they are a kill shelter. I believe in the Humane Society's mission.

The Humane Society of Tuolumne County's (HSOTC) mission is to find homes for abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals, promote humane education, and maintain a clean and safe environment for homeless animals awaiting adoption.
The HSOTC was established December 12, 1947. At that time, there was no facility to house the animals and they were kept in volunteers' homes. By 1980, the HSOTC gained a business office, yet the animals remained housed in the homes of volunteers. In 1997, the HSOTC acquired its current facility, conveniently located in Jamestown, comprised of 35 dog runs and 36 cat cages with an intake capacity to shelter over 90 animals in a county-wide emergency and all managed by a volunteer Board and limited staff.
